Gloven had to make a choice.
Either swallow his words and face humiliation, or bear a debt to preserve his honor.
Seeing Kevrant’s expression, Gloven felt that suggesting they split the costs would not work.
‘After all, our Brittany will marry the crown prince.’
Fortunately for Gloven, he had something to rely on.
When Brittany became the crown princess, the cost of the wedding would become insignificant.
Those who desired ties with the Withlow family would overflow with money and gifts.
Gloven changed his expression, and as leisurely as Kevrant, sat down and smiled.
“Very well, Earl Green. Of course, I can afford the cost of the wedding for my beloved daughter.”
“Oh, I knew you would.”
Kevrant, grinning broadly, pulled out the contract from his pocket. It was the invoice for equipment borrowed from the magic tower, the dress and jewelry commissioned to Tiolet, and the party and meals for the guests.
The amount written on the invoice was staggering.
“Please sign here.”
Suppressing his desire to throw the pen that Kevrant extended into his face, Gloven signed the invoice.
Kevrant neatly folded the invoice bearing Gloven’s name and tucked it away.
“Thank you. I won’t forget the Duke of Withlow’s effort for our wedding.”
Kevrant was the first to stand up.
“Then I have a lot to do, so I’ll get up first.”
Watching Kevrant leave without even waiting for a response, Gloven realized that Kevrant had never once called him ‘fatherinlaw’.

Walking down the hallway, Kevrant took out the invoice he’d put away.
Gloven Withlow’s signature under the staggering amount.
As far as Kevrant knew, Gloven’s financial situation wasn’t one that could manage such an amount right away. He would have to sell a few of his mansions or take a loan from a bank.
Kevrant recalled the earlier events.
He was kicked out by Zhen who said she was choosing a dress, and when he was hastily called back, he was curious about what had happened.
By the time he arrived, the room had been cleaned up, and only Lishi and Zhen were left waiting for Kevrant.
Lishi said to Zhen.
Zhen, give Kevrant the invoices we’ve used so far for the wedding.
Then she looked at Kevrant and said.
The Duke of Withlow will protest to you.
Suddenly, Kevrant wondered what the protest was about, but then Zhen revealed everything that had happened with Brittany.
The Duke of Withlow will choose to protect his honor. In a situation where he is trying to connect Brittany and the crown prince, it’s not good to be the talk of the town.
It was as Lishi said.
‘She’s a smart woman.’
When Lishi had something to carry out, she never said, ‘That might be possible.’ Her tone and gaze were always full of certainty.
Kevrant liked both the Lishi who blushed in front of him, and the Lishi who proceeded with things confidently.
There was no part of her that he disliked.
Grinning, Kevrant went into Lishi’s room.
“Lishi. I brought it.”
Waving the invoice, Kevrant smirked smugly.
To Lishi’s eyes, Kevrant looked like a puppy who wanted to be praised for bringing a bone.
So she should praise him generously.
“Well done, Kevrant.”
“Really well done?”
“Is there such a thing as a fake well done?”
“There’s no reward.”
“What should I do for you?”
Kevrant sat next to Lishi and offered his cheek.
Lishi didn’t know what he wanted, so she opened her eyes wide and stared at his smooth cheek.
“Hurry up.”
Kevrant urged.
Lishi narrowed her eyes slightly, then lightly patted Kevrant’s cheek with her palm.
“Well done, Kevrant.”
This time, it was Kevrant’s eyes that widened.
“What is this, Lishi?”
“Huh?”
“The reward is too stingy. It’s so stingy that I can eat it with meat.”
Complaining, Kevrant pushed Lishi onto the sofa, climbed on top of her, and kissed her.
As Kevrant’s lips parted, Lishi said.
“If you wanted a kiss, you should have pouted your lips.”
“It wasn’t a kiss I wanted, it was a peck on the cheek. The reason I kissed you is because interest has accrued.”
A peck on the cheek.
She hadn’t thought of that. Until now, no one had ever asked Lishi for a peck on the cheek.
“You’re the stingy one. Adding such an enormous interest in just a few seconds.”
“That’s why don’t let your guard down, Lishi. The moment you’re careless, interest even higher than this can accrue.”
She was curious about what could be higher interest than a kiss.
Just when she thought it might be okay to show that interest now, Kevrant held her waist and seated her back on the sofa.
“As you said, I did manage to rip off some money from Withlo, but there’s a part that worries me.”
Kevrant quickly shrugged off the strange atmosphere and returned to business talk. Lisi couldn’t understand why she felt regretful.
“If Withlo is aiming for the crown prince’s position, he wouldn’t dispose of his assets for this matter. He’d borrow from the bank, and if Withlo pays it off, that would be a relief. But if he can’t pay, we might have to bear it.”
“Don’t worry about that. I’ll take care of it.”
“Can’t you tell me how you plan to do it?”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
