Rishi knew that no matter what she said to Kay, he wouldn’t blush. Giving up on teasing him, Rishi revealed the purpose of her visit.
“We need reliable soldiers to guard Lavent’s gold mine.”
“We already have soldiers guarding the gold mine.”
“We need a bit more. We discovered Meritium in Lavent’s gold mine.”
Because Rishi’s tone was solemn, they didn’t immediately grasp the significance of her words. Kay, who had been staring at Rishi’s lips in a daze, gradually widened his eyes, and his subordinates stood up.
“Meritium?”
“Meritium is coming out?”
Rishi, who surprised everyone in the room, spoke without a change in expression.
“Yes. And it’s not just one or two; the visible amount is substantial. We need soldiers to protect that place, right?”
“Meritium… that’s unbelievable. Does it really come out so abundantly?”
Nathan stammered in disbelief. Others were muttering similar words, unable to believe what they were hearing.
Rishi waited for them to fully enjoy their astonishment for a while.
When Kay regained his composure, he said, “Rishi, you… knew. That Meritium is stored there. That’s why you gave up Venot’s gold mine and…”
Kay stopped talking about that. It was because he realized his subordinates were present.
Rishi just smiled without giving any other answer. Instead of pressing Rishi for more information, Kay asked his subordinates.
“Who is the guy lounging around right now?”
“Landa. He’s been whining a lot lately because he has nothing to do.”
“He’s too greedy for money. Who else is there?”
Rishi intervened.
“Somebody without a strong desire for money, good at managing people, and preferably someone with attention to detail.”
“Oh, how about Lake, Captain?”
“Oh, Lake. I forgot about him. Well done, Walas.”
Kay praised, and Walas looked at Nathan and Eugene brightly.
‘See? I’m good.’
It was a look that said that, but no one showed an envious expression.
“We have a guy named Lake among our subordinates, Rishi. He’s a diligent guy, so he’ll guard the gold mine well.”
“Good. Please send him as soon as possible.”
“Let’s send a letter to Lake. Prepare trustworthy guys and head to Lavent.”

Minasaric Kingdom.
Princess Mary Catben read the newspaper quietly. It was a newspaper published in the Gabizal Empire.
Mary put down the newspaper and looked at her aide. The aide, who was standing with an anxious look, quickly lowered her head.
“Why am I reading this now?”
Mary asked in a trembling voice.
Her large eyes were filled with tears, but she managed to maintain a seemingly restrained appearance. The aide resisted the impulse to take out a handkerchief and wipe away Mary’s tears.
“Your Highness…”
“No, I don’t want to hear that excuse.”
“It’s not an excuse, Your Highness. His Majesty instructed me not to inform you for a while…”
“Why? Am I going to be so shocked that I’ll ruin my meals and drinks?”
The aide didn’t answer, but undoubtedly, that was what she thought.
“The whole country is buzzing with the news of Kay’s marriage, and I was the only one who didn’t know. After all the fuss about how I’m going to marry Kay soon, how foolish must I have looked?”
The tears that had been held back finally succumbed to the weight and rolled down. Mary didn’t wipe away the remaining traces of tears on her pale and delicate cheeks. Silently shedding tears, she appeared fragile, as if she could break at any moment.
“Foolish… No one thinks of you that way, Your Highness.”
“Really? Even I feel like such a fool.”
“Your Highness…”
The comforting tone of the aide’s voice did not console Mary.
What Mary needed was Céibrandt Green. Except for the aide and maids present, Mary would have screamed.
Kay is getting married. He is marrying someone other than me, with the Pope’s blessing.
Unbelievable things were happening.
‘How could you leave me…? I’ve waited for you, not giving my attention to anyone.’
In her childhood, the moment Mary laid eyes on Kay, she placed him in her heart. Despite being praised as the most beautiful woman on the continent and being tempted by all kinds of men, she had never wavered for a single moment.
Mary’s heart belonged to Céibrandt Green.
Kay also knew that.
Even though it was time for him to get married, he didn’t bring up the topic of marriage, thinking that he should be properly recognized as the guardian of the relic. He believed that once he firmly established his position as the guardian of the relic inherited from Lord Green, he would propose.
Last time, when he stayed at the mansion of Lord Green and his wife for a while, he mentioned this matter to Lady Green.
[Dash] We can’t say anything about our son’s marriage, but if he doesn’t get married even though he’s of age, it’s okay if the partner is a princess.Lady Green turned and said, but the meaning was clear.
Our Kay’s partner is no one but you.
But suddenly, the Duke of Wittle’s son, the Viscount, appears as the flower of the ducal house.
It was unacceptable.
‘There must be some other reason.’
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
