The Bad Husband (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 71
Swish.
As the sound of the sliding door echoed, Seo Woo anxiously turned her eyes toward it. Although the noise came from the adjacent room, every time she heard it, she tensed up instantly.
The tea she’d ordered thirty minutes ago upon arriving—driven by a burning thirst—was already empty. Yet she remained on high alert, continuously checking her appearance.
Today, she’d dressed as neatly and elegantly as possible. Avoiding anything revealing or overly ornate, she’d focused instead on high-quality fabrics: a simple blouse paired with black slacks, and even her trademark long straight hair was neatly tied up in a bun.
Still uneasy, Seo Woo checked her face once more using a hand mirror.
Just then, footsteps approached. And a staff member’s voice guided, “This way, please.”
Seo Woo instinctively recognized this visitor as her own. She could detect unusual deference and caution in the employee’s tone—which meant the guest was someone who demanded such respect.
Her guess was correct. The sliding door opened, and Young Ja appeared.
As soon as she entered, Young Ja swept Seo Woo with a cold, appraising glance. Though it was just a look, it stung like needles pricking her skin.
“You’ve arrived.”
Seo Woo stood and bowed politely, but Young Ja didn’t even nod in acknowledgment. Instead, she sat down, ordered a cup of tea from the staff, and then turned her gaze back to Seo Woo.
“You’ve been well, I trust. You look good.”
“I didn’t carve out precious time just to hear idle pleasantries from you. Get straight to the point.”
Young Ja’s icy words held not a trace of emotion—just as always, cold and utterly indifferent.
Moments later, the staff returned with the tea Young Ja had ordered and refilled Seo Woo’s cup as well. The steaming hot tea felt like the only warmth in the room. That was how intense Young Ja’s hostility toward Seo Woo was—making her feel as though she were a terrible criminal, shrinking her down to nothing.

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”
