The Bad Husband (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 24
As soon as she got home, Seo Woo ran to the bathroom with a deathly pale face. She clung to the toilet and vomited everything inside her. Of course, there was nothing except sour bile mixed with stomach acid. She hadn’t eaten since yesterday, so there was nothing left to come up.
Even so, she kept dry-heaving over the toilet for a long time. In her desperate wish to throw up even the filthy feelings in her heart, she shoved her fingers down her throat. Only when she was completely drained of strength did the retching finally stop.
She rinsed her mouth and looked in the mirror. A stranger with a wrecked face was staring back at her. It was ruined beyond recognition—was this really her face?
Just hours ago, when she was heading to the wedding venue, she had been the dazzling top star Park Seo Woo, more glamorous than anyone.
She couldn’t forget the look of the bride in pure white looking up at her with startled eyes. The woman had an aura completely opposite to her own glamorous one. Yet that mysterious charm was captivating enough to suit an actress perfectly.
And the moment she saw the bride, she realized the truth. Woo Jin had hidden that woman so thoroughly not because he was protecting her, not because he was ashamed of her.
So that no one could touch her—so thoroughly protected.
Seo Woo knew better than anyone what that meant. That was why her chest felt suffocated and her stomach twisted. The pain that started the moment she saw the woman clawed at her stomach walls and tightened around her ribs.
“Gasp!”
Shocked by the stabbing pain, Seo Woo quickly reached for the pill bottle in the bathroom drawer. It was the stomach medicine prescribed in the States.
Her trembling hands tried to open the bottle, but another wave of tightening pain hit, and she collapsed right there.
She hit her head on the cold tile floor, then desperately grabbed two pills from the spilled bottle and swallowed them dry. Tears fell as he swallowed without water.
She resented Woo Jin.
She had thought he loved her passionately, but apparently not.
But Seo Woo refused to believe it. No matter what, Woo Jin had protected her from the women of the Jangwon family, and he would continue to do so. She believed that was love. Even if she could never be his bride, at the very least she could be the one he loved—she never doubted it.
