Any act of violence inevitably incurs a corresponding consequence. For delivering a decisive blow to her father, Kkul Beol Yi nearly wore her fingers down to the bone.

After showering Kkul Beol Yi with ample affection, Jeong Hyeok headed to the kitchen, placed her in the high chair adjacent to the island counter, and turned around.

He swept the kitchen with a searching glance, briefly stared blankly for a moment, then promptly opened the refrigerator. After another brief scan, he finally pulled out a few side dishes and a carton of milk before turning back.

Whirr— The microwave whirred to life, emitting a yellow glow.

Moments later, thumping footsteps caught his ear. Si Woo came thundering down the stairs and dashed straight into the kitchen, then stood rigidly at attention—like a student awaiting inspection—waiting patiently for his father’s gaze.

After activating the induction cooktop and turning around, Jeong Hyeok placed one hand on his hip and meticulously inspected his son.

The short-sleeved shirt was neatly ironed, and embroidered clearly above the chest pocket’s kindergarten logo was the name “Yoo Si Woo.” His clip-on tie sat straight, and his pants zipper was properly fastened.

Though the toe of his socks dangled loosely almost to his knuckles, overall, it was commendable.

Beep— The microwave signaled completion. As Jeong Hyeok removed the lukewarm milk, Kkul Beol Yi suddenly began vigorously tapping her tray.

“Boo-yoo! Boo-yoo!”

Kkul Beol Yi was wildly excited at the sight of milk.

“Wait.”

He commanded firmly, as though addressing a puppy—but Kkul Beol Yi was no puppy.

“Woo-baah! Bbaa, bba-bba!”

Thump-thump! Her plush little fists pounded even harder. Honestly, such a temper… Jeong Hyeok shook his head. Before his daughter grew even more unruly, he swiftly fetched her a straw cup and patted his knee while seated.
