“I’ll take Yoo Si Woo to school and then head to work.”

Jeong Hyeok said, tucking his casted arm inside his trench coat. Da Jung, who had finished getting ready and followed them to the front door along with Si Woo, leaned drowsily against the wall, still half-asleep.

“Are you sure it’s really okay?”

Da Jung asked again. For a woman who’d raised her child over the past five years by relying on help from various people, her concern seemed excessive.

“It’s not like it’s just one or two days. Why make such a big deal out of it now?”

Jeong Hyeok muttered indifferently.

When haven’t I done this before? Since reuniting, I’ve been visiting my son’s kindergarten as routinely as eating meals—why act surprised now?

“Yoo Da Jung, you go back to sleep. You stayed up late working yesterday, after all.”

Da Jung was momentarily speechless and let out a small, wry chuckle. How could someone look so utterly nonchalant while being so shamelessly bold?

Last night, she’d barely glanced at the design drawings for ten minutes under the pretext of work. Her lack of sleep wasn’t due to work—it was from repeatedly checking the door lock over several hours.

She itched to clarify that point, but with her young son listening, she decided to just let it go.

“Then I’ll leave it to you.”

Since his kindness wasn’t unpleasant, Da Jung smiled sleepily at him. Naturally, Jeong Hyeok leaned in and kissed her cheek.
