8:00 PM. Da Jung, who had parked her car in the dimly lit parking lot, looked up through the front windshield.

Seeing the light brightly on in her own balcony, she let out a heavy sigh and rested her forehead against the steering wheel.

She hadn’t expected Sung Ja to easily back down after being asked to leave—after all, if that were even remotely likely, someone with whom she had zero prior acquaintance wouldn’t have barged in so recklessly.

Still, it seemed she desperately wished this uncomfortable situation would end quickly—as evidenced by just how reluctant she felt about stepping back into her own home.

Swallowing another sigh, Da Jung glanced into the rearview mirror. Si Woo, apparently overcome with drowsiness, kept yawning repeatedly.

Lingering pointlessly in the parking lot served no purpose. Stepping out of the car, Da Jung took Si Woo’s hand—rubbing his eyes groggily—and headed toward the apartment.

Upon opening the front door and entering, loud music blared from the TV.

“Huh?”

Si Woo, stepping into the living room, blinked at the unfamiliar scene before quickly bowing.

“Grandmother, hello.”

“Oh, you’re here? Huh-huh.”

Responding curtly to Si Woo’s greeting, Sung Ja panted heavily while vigorously moving her body. Standing in the center of the living room, she was intently following along with an aerobics program airing on the health channel.

Si Woo sharply turned his head to look at Da Jung, clearly wanting to say, *She shouldn’t be jumping like that.*

Though Da Jung worried complaints about noise disturbance might soon come from downstairs due to Sung Ja stomping so hard, she silently just shook her head. She wasn’t in the mood to say anything at all.

Though Sung Ja was Si Woo’s grandmother and Jeong Hyeok’s biological mother—making Da Jung reluctant to think so harshly of her—she was, quite frankly, a person utterly devoid of consideration, no matter how hard one searched.
