Thud, plop, thud. The sound of raindrops hitting the window was calm and steady.

The torrential monsoon rain had lost some of its earlier ferocity, now falling with just the right amount of poetic charm and romantic rhythm.

“I miss Yoo Si Woo.”

Gazing out the window, where the glass was fading into a deepening blue, Jeong Hyeok murmured softly.

Da Jung, diligently sipping her hot chocolate, lifted her head and looked at him. He seemed somehow downcast.

She hadn’t expected him to adore a child this much—though perhaps it was the melancholy rain nudging him toward sentimental depths.

“So, Cha Jung Hyeok, you really like Si Woo, huh?”

At Da Jung’s question, Jeong Hyeok turned his gaze from the window toward her.

“Yoo Si Woo is so cute.”

He sighed heavily, as if burning with longing—so heavy it felt like the ground itself might cave in. Sensing the sudden oppressive gloom threatening to overwhelm them, Da Jung swiftly shifted the mood.

“Well, to be fair—I gave birth to him—but yeah, our Si Woo *is* pretty darn cute.”

She declared this proudly, puffing up with self-satisfaction. At that, his previously gloomy expression noticeably brightened, and he leaned in close, pressing his lips to her ear.

“You, Yoo Da Jung, are cute too.”

After whispering playfully, he pulled away—leaving Da Jung to chuckle softly. She understood, yet didn’t fully grasp, why he suddenly shot her that sly, suggestive look while calling her “cute.”

Her intuition proved correct. His lips began tracing a path along her temples, the curve of her ear, then down to the base of her earlobe.
