Seon Young firmly pressed her throbbing temples. The headache that had persisted for days showed no sign of subsiding.

No wonder—it wasn’t just one or two minor issues troubling her lately. Ever since Hyun Ah’s wedding fell through, a storm of noisy problems had sprung up one after another, like mushrooms after rain.

Amid all this, a chaotic scene caught her eye: Hyun Ah, looking bizarre, pacing restlessly back and forth in the living room, muttering something unintelligibly.

Her hair was wildly disheveled, her mascara and heavy eyeliner smeared all over from tears, and the stench of liquor hung thick in the air. It seemed she hadn’t even approached the shower in at least three or four days.

Gazing at her daughter with deep disappointment, Seon Young shook her head faintly.

For several days, Hyun Ah hadn’t shown even a glimpse of herself at the kindergarten; her phone had been completely unreachable, silent and unresponsive—so worried she might have entertained some dark thoughts, Seon Young rushed over to the officetel, only to find her in this state, clutching her phone for hours without letting go.

“Ah, just answer already! Why on earth won’t you pick up? What am I supposed to do, seriously… Ugh, please just pick up already…”

Watching her daughter mutter like a drowned rat, Seon Young felt a woodpecker drilling violently into her skull—her headache spiked excruciatingly.

Suppressing a groan, she hastily swallowed a painkiller, though she doubted it would do much. At that moment, Hyun Ah’s fury—built up to its breaking point—finally exploded.

“KYAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!”

With a shriek, the phone flew violently across the room and struck an expensive bronze ballerina sculpture—*clang!*

It smashed precisely into the ballerina’s head, crushing the phone’s frame, then ricocheted nonstop into a famous pop-art painting hanging directly behind, tearing it cleanly down the center, before finally dropping with a *thud* onto the floor, meeting its heroic—but tragic—end.

“He won’t answer! I’ve tried over a hundred times, but Oppa won’t pick up my calls! Aaaargh!”

Grabbing her own hair, Hyun Ah screamed wildly. Seon Young squeezed her eyes shut and let out a sigh.

Just listening to her half-mad daughter’s wail made her already splitting head feel as though it were being chopped into pieces. She trembled inwardly, fearing another disaster was imminent.
