“We’ve arrived.”

At Director Min’s words, Jeong Hyeok’s tightly closed eyelids lifted. He raised his wrist to check the time, then quietly gazed out the car window for a moment.

“Anyone got a cigarette?”

His voice sounded utterly bored.

“A cigarette… Ah.”

Instinctively, Director Min patted his chest and pockets, though of course a non-smoker wouldn’t have any.

Amidst this, an odd thought crossed his mind—he had never once seen Executive Managing Director Cha smoke before.

A truly competent secretary never says “no.” Since the executive managing director was asking, Director Min ruminated on a solution, his eyes darting toward the driver’s seat.

He’d occasionally spotted Secretary Kim, the accompanying secretary, smoking outside during waits.

Since Secretary Kim was plainly aware yet feigned ignorance, Director Min gave his elbow a light nudge—urging him silently to hand one over quickly. Secretary Kim grimaced.

As the sole driver, he needed to be extra careful about odors, and he resented Director Min for bluntly revealing his smoking habit without a care.

“Here you go, Executive Managing Director.”

A single cigarette was passed to the backseat. Taking it, Jeong Hyeok stepped out of the car and leaned against the door, placing the cigarette between his lips.

Director Min hurriedly followed and flicked his lighter to offer a flame, only for Executive Managing Director Cha to scrunch his face in displeasure.

“Are you insane?”
