A vague time past 3 p.m.

Stepping into the lobby of Myeonghan Distribution, Si Woo looked around curiously with wide-eyed wonder.

Busy adults hurried past in stiff, brisk strides everywhere he turned, and the lobby’s ceiling—entangled with dizzying metallic structures—loomed dizzyingly high, stretching all the way up to the seventh floor.

Feeling one leg grow heavy, Jeong Hyeok lowered his gaze diagonally downward. There, Yoo Si Woo clutched tightly onto his pant leg, eyes sparkling with a mix of wariness and curiosity.

After watching the dolphins and having sandwiches for lunch, Jeong Hyeok’s original plan had been this:

First, head to the residence and proudly present Yoo Si Woo with the latest video gaming setup he’d prepared for his son, saying, “I got this ready just for you.”

He intended to catch up on pending tasks online while Yoo Si Woo played for a while and eventually dozed off for a late nap. After feeding him dinner and returning him to his mother, the mission would be complete.

But things had unfortunately changed. Urgent reports he hadn’t anticipated—and approvals that could no longer be postponed—had suddenly flooded in all at once.

Depending on when he signed off, smaller partner companies could risk abrupt bankruptcy overnight, making it impossible to handle the matter carelessly.

Thus, he had no choice but to ask Yoo Si Woo for understanding over the next few hours.

Si Woo abruptly tilted his head back and stared up at Jeong Hyeok.

“Huh? Didn’t you say we were going to Dad’s office…?”

The only concept Si Woo could associate with the word “office” was the cozy space at Hanbit Architectural Office, where his mom and Representative Uncle used to work.

Desks jammed tightly together, papers densely packed with intricate drawings and text piled precariously—as if ready to topple at any moment—still remained vivid and impressive in his memory.

Jeong Hyeok raised one finger.
