Si Woo, who had gone down to the playground after a late breakfast, came home earlier than usual. Even the playground friends he often ran into were at kindergarten and out of sight, so his interest in swinging and playing quickly faded.

Back home, Da Jung immediately opened her laptop. After exchanging work-related emails, she dove straight into design work.

Chairman Hong had said it was fine to take it slow, but she had already missed deadlines multiple times for personal reasons, so delaying any further felt shameless.

In the meantime, Si Woo went to his room, picked out a fairy tale book, and came back out. He sat on the living room sofa as if to read it, but soon grew bored and started fiddling with toys. Before long, he began watching an ocean documentary.

He must have watched it over a dozen times already, yet he still wasn’t tired of it. Still, not being able to go to kindergarten made the back of his focused little head look less cute than usual and more lonely, almost pitiful.

Si Woo’s eyes, fixed on the documentary, kept glancing toward Da Jung. It seemed he had something he wanted to say to his mom.

A moment later, having made up his mind, Si Woo trotted over, grabbed the edge of the dining table where his mom was working, and stuck his neck out like a turtle.

“Mom!”

“Yes, our Si Woo, what is it?”

Da Jung, deeply focused, answered kindly without taking her eyes off the laptop. Si Woo, pursing his lips as he looked at her, asked cautiously.

“Mom, when can Si Woo go to kindergarten?”

“Hm?”

Only then did Da Jung turn to look at her son, who was craning his neck like a baby bird.

This was the first time they had talked about kindergarten since visiting Chairwoman Park’s house. It seemed Si Woo had been worried the whole time about his mom saying she would transfer him from Grandma Wang’s house.

Da Jung gave a soft smile with an apologetic look.
