“……”
The man was consistently rude.
But why? She didn’t hate his rudeness.
Without much to prepare, she hurriedly washed her face, changed into a casual outfit, and rushed out of the room.
Keeping a man who was obsessed with the importance of a single meal waiting didn’t seem like a wise course of action.
As she hurriedly descended the stairs, she noticed an old woman cleaning the living room.
“Young lady from room 201 slept in, didn’t you?”
“Did you sleep well, ma’am?”
Politely bowing in greeting, Da Jung turned her eyes to the entrance. The back of room 206’s tenant loitering outside the door was visible.
“I’m sorry for causing a disturbance yesterday.”
As Da Jung apologized, the old woman casually waved her off.
“What do you mean? There are people like that from time to time, don’t mind them. I was just about to talk to the gentleman outside and ask him to leave, but he left on his own.”
“He left?”
“He must have been embarrassed when he sobered up. The young men he was with also left. I don’t know if they’ll behave themselves elsewhere. They cause all sorts of disgrace for our country.”
The old woman, who tsked as if it were a disgrace, was about to resume sweeping, then straightened her back.
“By the way, where are you going?”
“Yes, I’m about to have breakfast. I’m sorry for not eating the breakfast you served……”
“There’s no need for apologies. After all, we’re just doing our job for pay. But……”
The lady suddenly cut off her sentence, leaned in close, and lowered her voice.

“Seems like the bachelor in room 206 has been waiting for a while, are you going with him?”
“Yes……? Yes…… Well, haha.”
In her vague response, the lady gave a sly smile.
“Oh my, just as I thought. He sat in the dining hall all morning without eating, then finally left. He must’ve been waiting to eat with you. Good for him, very good.”
Da Jung awkwardly smiled without explaining what the lady seemed pleased about imagining.
After a brief conversation, she hurriedly left the entrance, causing a man outside to turn around.
When their eyes met, he immediately began to walk somewhere. Da Jung followed him hesitantly, sensing that he wanted her to follow.
His steps were not fast. Still, due to the height difference of about 20 centimeters, she had to nearly run every few steps to keep up with him.
After about 5 minutes, Da Jung was walking shoulder to shoulder with him.
He had slowed his pace to match hers, and it seemed natural rather than awkward.
Their destination was a brunch café in a square near their accommodation.
The man sat down casually in front of an openair table with a large canopy. Da Jung took a seat opposite him, interpreting his gesture as an invitation.
A server approached, and the man started ordering something without asking Da Jung.

Even though he matched his walking pace with hers, which seemed considerate, he was also very much doing things his way, leaving her unable to figure him out.
But his English and Spanish were fluent. Da Jung didn’t know Spanish, but that was her impression.
When the server turned to leave after taking the order, the man stopped him again. After a few more words, the server responded with a polite refusal gesture.
Da Jung admired how naturally he conversed with the local, as if he was one of them.
How many languages does he speak?
When she stared in amazement, the man, who had been fiddling with his foot on his leg, locked eyes with her.
“You’re allergic to peanuts.”
“……”
That was certainly unexpected.
She was just surprised by his fluency in Spanish, but it seemed he thought she was curious about their conversation.
A fountain in the center of the square that looked like a piece of art sent up a cool spray of water.
Da Jung decided it was about time she addressed a certain issue.

“Excuse me, but you keep speaking informally……”
The man who had been lazily watching the fountain and the passersby shifted his gaze to her. Then he stretched out his back and propped his chin on his hand.
“You seem younger than me.”
“How can you tell?”
“Are you over thirty?”
Da Jung vigorously shook her head. The man returned his gaze to the street, as if no further words were necessary.
He seemed to have concluded that she was about thirty, but she wasn’t ready to accept defeat.
“Still, when strangers or people who don’t know each other well……”
“If it bothers you, you can do it too.”
“……”
He was a formidable opponent.
DaJeong held her lips tight, saying nothing more. She wanted to retort in the same manner, but it wasn’t in her nature.
Ordinarily, if you’d dined together three times, you’d ask the other person’s name, but he hadn’t asked her anything.
So, DaJeong tried not to ask either, but her curiosity got the better of her and she found her lips moving.
“But… you really can’t eat alone?”
“Yeah.”
The man responded promptly, turning his gaze away and smiling, curling up the corners of his mouth. At least when he smiled, he looked somewhat human.
Pity was evident on DaJeong’s face as she nodded in understanding.

Would he starve if he didn’t have someone to eat with? He must be hungry.
His laughter flowed ceaselessly at the sight of her pitying glance, and then he turned his gaze back to the streets.
She thought he was naive, but she didn’t expect him to take her words so seriously.
It was true he hated eating alone to the extreme, but he hadn’t starved just because he was alone.
He simply disliked sitting alone at a cold, lonely dining table.
It was commonplace to feel loneliness after living abroad for a long time. It was something the man was accustomed to. However, he could never get used to eating alone.
That’s why he chose the woman before him.
Being fellow Koreans played a significant role in his decision, but her submissive appearance and her quietness appealed to him the most.
He didn’t seem like the type to cause unnecessary trouble either.
Some time later, unassuming dishes like sandwiches and salads were served.

Throughout the meal, as always, the man said nothing.
He wasn’t agile in his actions and was relaxed in everything he did, maintaining his calm in any situation. Put differently, he seemed skilled at managing his emotions. Or perhaps, clumsy.
Eating, studying, working. In every aspect, he was fundamentally different from DaJeong, who had an obsessive need to move quickly.
When the meal was over, DaJeong promptly opened her mouth.
“I’ll pay.”
As she opened the wallet she had been clutching all along, the man met her gaze with a puzzled expression.
“Why?”
“Well…”
When asked for a reason, she found it difficult to respond.
“I should pay.”
“Why should you? I don’t like that.”
As DaJeong resisted, the man stared back at her. Worried that she might have appeared too stern, DaJeong quickly softened her tone.
“Then let’s split the bill.”
“Alright, fine.”
Without any further argument, the man gracefully stepped back.
Although it might have seemed stubborn, DaJeong insisted on paying for her portion.
Though Koreans tend to argue over who should pay, she didn’t want to owe a meal to a man she barely knew.

On the way back, the man matched DaJeong’s pace, walking at a slow speed. Spending time with someone in silence was awkward and uncomfortable.
As they reached the lodging and DaJeong was about to ascend the stairs maintaining some distance from the man, he, who was ahead of her, turned around.
“Make sure to keep your mealtime. If I miss a meal because of you, I’ll sue.”
“……”
DaJeong blinked in astonishment, her face expressing utter disbelief.

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
