The scene that appeared on the large screen was undeniably shocking, leaving Sunyoung unable to close her mouth. Despite providing a chance for her to escape, the reason for being dragged away with handcuffs was incomprehensible.
It was confusing. Wasn’t Secretary Pyo supposed to confirm the ship’s departure? Ah, Sunyoung clutched her head in bewilderment.
Jeonghyuk, who had been watching the TV screen, glanced briefly towards the hospital bed. The woman who had posed as Oh Hyuna remained lying down without a flicker, even as the situation escalated. She must be feeling embarrassed herself.
“The Oh Hyuna on TV is the one I know, but who is that woman?”
Jeonghyuk chuckled as he seemed to have an idea. Da-jeong also sighed with a bewildered expression.
For someone, it was confusing; for someone else, it was embarrassing. And for someone, the words were lost, and they sent mocking and scornful glances. That was the moment.
Suddenly, with a loud bang, the hospital door swung open, and angry footsteps rushed into the room.
The man entering through the door was Chairman Oh Cheol-jung. The moment he discovered Sunyoung’s irritated face, she paled.
“H-How did Chairman get here…!”
Without looking like he could see anything, he glanced at Sunyoung as if assessing her, then went straight to the hospital bed and roughly pulled up the blanket.

The woman who had posed as Hyuna was surprised and raised herself from the bed. This time, the mask covering her face fell off.
Confirming with his own eyes that the person occupying the expensive VIP room was undoubtedly his daughter, Chairman Oh directed another disdainful look at Sunyoung.
“Chairman? No, dear. What happened…?”
Seeing the angry beast, Sunyoung calmly requested him as if handling an enraged beast.
“Calm down? Now you’re telling me to calm down?!”
Sunyoung was startled by his explosive shout and took a step back.
“I told you to handle it properly, didn’t I?!”
“I tried to handle it well!”
“Is this handling it well?! I waited for you to write a reflection or diligently do something to get a reduced sentence. Instead, you were planning to stow away a daughter who committed a crime, even though she is awaiting trial?! Are you in your right mind?!”
There was no room for more. Sunyoung knelt down on her knees and clasped her hands together, begging.

“D-Dear. I made a mistake. So, how about Hyuna…!”
“Noisy! Listen to me clearly. We’re getting a divorce. I’ll send you the paperwork, so put your seal on it without a fuss. I’ll also disown the daughter who brought shame to the family, so understand that.”
As if it were enough, Chairman Oh coldly spat out and left the hospital room with a chilling glance at Sunyoung.
Finally, Jeonghyuk, who had silently kept his place, made eye contact with Sunyoung. However, Chairman Oh, uncomfortable, replaced his uncomfortable feelings with a fake cough and left the room.
Instead, another middle-aged man who came into the room with him approached. He was Vice Chairman Oh Hyun-gi, Chairman Oh’s eldest son.
Jeonghyuk was a person with various faces, playing the role of an intermediary who had provided evidence of Hyuna’s crime through videos and materials to Chairman Oh.
“Assistant Cha, I heard you had a hard time because of my ugly little sister. There’s no shame like this. It’s so embarrassing that I can’t even show my face. It might not be comforting, but let me apologize as her older brother.”
“I don’t think it’s something to apologize for. Guilt or innocence will be determined in the trial.”
“Right.”
Vice Chairman Oh nodded affirmatively and turned away. Seoyoung urgently grabbed his elbow.
“Vice, Vice Chairman! Please listen to me!”

Vice Chairman Oh frowned, politely shaking off Seoyoung’s hand.
“Do you have something to say?”
The chairman’s eldest son was four years older than Seoyoung and had always kept a distant relationship with her due to his cold demeanor. Nevertheless, because he formally treated their mother well, Seoyoung forced a strained smile.
“Could you please talk to Chairman-nim? It’s not right to leave Hyuna like that. Please?”
“If we don’t leave her like that?”
Even when he stooped and went inside, he seemed indifferent to someone else’s business.
“Hey, Oh Hyunki! No matter what, she’s your sister! Are you going to stand by and watch your family go downhill?!”
“Didn’t you just hear Father say he’s disowning her from the family register? If she committed a crime, she should receive punishment. Oh, right!”
After decisively cutting her off, Vice Chairman Oh suddenly stopped his footsteps. Turning around with an arrogant gaze, he looked down at Seoyoung.
“Also, it seems you haven’t grasped the situation yet, Mother. No, since Father just informed me of the divorce, should I call you just ‘Ms. Kang Seoyoung’ now?”

“W-What?”
Vice Chairman Oh sneered and bowed his upper body. Then, in a chilly tone, he whispered into Seoyoung’s ear.
“Hey, Kang Seoyoung. Stop pretending. You’re finished.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
