“Huh? Momma! Momma―!”
The child’s small feet bounced in place.
“Momma!”
“Si Woo.”
Da Jung, who had hurried over, bent her knees and tightly embraced Si Woo.
“I’m sorry for being late. Did our Si Woo wait a lot?”
“No! I didn’t wait at all. Uh…… Where’s auntie?”
“Auntie said she was busy, so mom came. Are you upset because it’s not auntie?”
Da Jung’s expression became gloomy. Si Woo, who had taken a deep breath, promptly shook his head.
“No! No! Si Woo likes mom the best in the world!”
Involuntarily laughing at her son’s foxlike affection, Da Jung fervently peppered Si Woo’s cheek with kisses.
“Mom also likes Si Woo the best in the world!”
Watching the woman imitate the child’s exaggerated speech, Hyun Ah snorted in disbelief.
Things had worked out perfectly. It was a golden opportunity to show Jung Hyuk a professional side. She was regretful that her plan to boast about the kindergarten’s scale had gone down the drain.
Hyun Ah haughtily crossed her arms.
“Was this your kid?”
Despite the cold first words, Da Jung smiled warmly.
“Director. It’s been a while. I’m sorry for not greeting you sooner after leaving Si Woo in your care. By the way, how is the chairman?”
The fact that Si Woo was able to enroll in Han Song Private Kindergarten was largely due to the help of Sun Young, Hyun Ah’s mother and the foundation’s chairman.
Although she asked after her out of gratitude, Hyun Ah brushed it off.

“Madam! You need to pick up your child on time. Do you know how much it would impact the kindergarten if the child is left alone, gets lost, or gets hurt? If you’re going to be late, you should call!”
Despite the young lady’s reprimand, Da Jung just smiled gently. There was no reason for her not to bow her head when it came to her child’s education.
“I’m sorry, Director. I tried to hurry, but the traffic was, because of the wind…….”
Da Jung’s voice, which had been only cheerful, suddenly faltered. Her eyes, which had started in surprise, also shook slightly.
The moment she saw the face of the man standing next to Director Oh Hyun Ah, Da Jung paled as if she had seen a ghost.
As the man who had been staring at her face indifferently lowered his gaze, Da Jung unknowingly pulled Si Woo behind her.
As if it was a secret she had to keep to herself.
A dry wind blew. Just like that time five years ago.
It was a ripe afternoon in early summer.
“……So, sorry. Director. I’ll contact you in advance next time.”
Her voice might have trembled, she was anxious.
Hastily lowering her gaze, Da Jung gripped the back of Si Woo’s head.
“Si Woo. Say goodbye.”
“Goodbye, Director. Goodbye, mister.”
Si Woo bowed deeply in greeting. Da Jung, as if she had been waiting, held Si Woo’s hand and turned around. Her palm was damp with sweat.

“Uh…… Momma.”
Si Woo staggered at the fast pace. Instead of slowing down, Da Jung swiftly picked up the struggling Si Woo and maintained her speed.
Her face, rushing toward the parking lot, remained pale.
As she hurried away with the child in her arms, Jung Hyuk’s gaze remained fixed on the woman for a long time, causing Hyun Ah to purse her lips in irritation.
Even though she was a woman with a child, it wasn’t particularly pleasant to see his attention directed towards another woman.
“Brother, what are you looking at like that? Do you know her?”
Despite the sharply thrown question, Jung Hyuk’s indifferent gaze was fixed only in the far distance.
Seeing that Si Woo had fallen asleep, Da Jung left the house for a walk and headed towards Sol Yi’s café, which was a 10minute walk away.
「Caffe, Sol.」
People wouldn’t know. The seemingly profound yet simple name was born purely out of selflove.
Ding.
As the doorbell rang, Sol Yi’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Wow! What brings you here at this time? Where’s Si Woo?”
“I put him to sleep and came out for some fresh air. But it’s still busy at night. You’ll be rich soon.”
Despite being past 10 o’clock, there were still a good number of customers in the café. The main clientele were office workers, but due to its location in an officetel building, there were always customers, even at night.
Da Jung felt a renewed pride in her hardworking friend.
Five years ago, there were only five tables, but now there were fifteen. It could be called a significant improvement.
Having secured a free coffee thanks to her friend’s generosity, Da Jung took a seat by the window and leisurely enjoyed the night atmosphere.
It was then that she noticed something unusual.
“Here’s your iced Americano.”
The way Sol Yi was treating the burly male customer was unusually friendly.
Considering Sol Yi’s character, who usually speaks out loud and straightforwardly to her customers, it was definitely different.
Da Jung sneakily glanced at the man as he returned to his seat. He was with another man, and both of them had burly builds.
Throughout all this, Sol Yi kept glancing at the men’s table. Sensing something, Da Jung casually approached and leaned on the counter.
“Wow, they look so healthy.”

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
