“Please pay in full.”
Satisfied, Sookyung slid the golden credit card between her index and middle fingers and presented it to the cashier. Witnessing this scene, Dojun objected with an awkward expression.
“Ms. Lee Sookyung, let me handle the payment.”
The current store where they were situated was the most preferred luxury suit brand shop by young men worldwide.
No matter how Sookyung boasted of being the daughter of the director of Hangang Hospital, having a worry-free affluent background, this was too much. Even if she did possess the VIP exclusive card that only high-ranking corporate executives could get, it was beyond what Dojun’s sense of morality could allow.
“A gift, and Kwondojun wants to take care of the payment?”
“I will accept your intentions, but let me handle the payment.”
Sookyung tilted her head, as if not understanding English. Then, Dojun, glancing at the cashier, brought his lips close to her ear.
“Ms. Sookyung, you may not know, but the cost of these clothes here is not trivial. Even if your parents are supporting you, this is too much, especially for a student.”
“A student? Me?”

Sookyung blinked her eyes rapidly as if hearing unexpected words.
The moment Dojun saw her expression, he realized his mistake. He had never asked her about her occupation because the perception of her being the daughter of Hangang Hospital was too strong. He had assumed that since she came from an affluent family, she must be a student studying late into the night.
Perhaps because of this strong perception of her being the daughter of Hangang Hospital, he had never asked her what she did. Since she was perceived to be from a wealthy family, he had judged that she must be a student studying late into the night.
Sookyung gave a puzzled smile.
“How old do you think I am that I’m still studying? I’m already tired of what I’ve been doing until now.”
“I’m sorry. I thought Ms. Sookyung had the freedom of time because she was a student.”
Embarrassed, Dojun immediately apologized, covering his awkwardness.
“Not a student, but a carefree unemployed person. But don’t worry. The money to give a gift to Mr. Kwondojun is honestly earned by me.”
Smiling, she signed the bill extended by the cashier. When she grinned, Dojun could no longer find an excuse to refuse her gift.
“I’m sorry. What should I do? I shouldn’t have accepted such a thing from Ms. Sookyung…”

“Then, buy me dinner. At a place as expensive and elegant as the cost of these clothes.”
Her consideration to alleviate the burden was cute. Only then did Dojun’s face flush.
“All right, let’s do that. Shall we go now? Where were you thinking?”
“No, it’s regrettable, but I have work today, so it seems we can’t have dinner together.”
Sookyung smiled, her eyebrows raising slightly as if expressing regret.
Despite being a completely different person, she was a woman whose shadowless and cheerful appearance reminded someone of someone.
A gentle smile lingered on Dojun’s lips as he briefly thought of Dajeong over Sookyung’s face.
“Alright, let’s do that. We must go next time. To a very expensive and elegant place.”
Seunghoon wandered along a quiet corridor. After looking around left and right and determining that no one was watching, he discreetly pressed against the security gate.
Pressing his face against the transparent glass, he rolled his eyes all around, but it was not easy to spy on what was happening beyond the gate.
17th-floor conference room. About a month ago, under the direction of Director Cha, individual security devices were installed in all seven conference rooms on that floor.

Usually used as a place for in-house executive meetings or presentations for large projects, it had become a place where no one could enter without an access card due to the special security facilities.
The reason for this overseas duty-free shop expansion seemed to have led to this, but it didn’t make sense to establish a new TF at this late stage.
Moreover, planning something secretly with such strict security? Seunghoon was curious to the point of madness.
As he craned his neck here and there to peer through the glass, the mobile phone in his pocket shook uncontrollably.
Startled, Seunghoon quickly pressed the call button and brought the phone to his ear. Soon, a clattering voice poked at him.
“Where are you!”
Ah, an oblivious girl. Sighing, Seunghoon whispered softly.
“Hey, Oh Hyun. Why are you calling since the morning? I told you to text if you have something to say.”
“Because you won’t respond to texts! How’s it going? Did you find out anything?”
“Of course. It’s a piece of cake for me. I always feel this, but you seem to see me too sporadically.”

“Noisy. If you found out something, send it right away.”
“Look at this. How much trouble did I go through to find this out, and you want to take it in with your bare hands?”
Hyuna let out an annoyed sigh.
“Ha, I got it. Then, let’s meet in a quiet place tomorrow afternoon.”
“Okay! In―San!”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
