A woman suddenly barged in, sneering as if she was incredulous.
“Don’t you know who I am?”
“Of course. You’re Director Oh Hyun Ah, we are well aware.”
What she really wanted to hear was probably being acknowledged as Jung Hyuk’s fiancée or marriage partner. But none of the secretaries dared to utter those words.
It had been days since the swift instruction to handle the situation appropriately, given the dissolution of a chaebol marriage.
Thud! A luxury handbag struck the desk abruptly.
“If you’re lying, I won’t let you off!”
The secretaries exchanged tense looks under the woman’s ferocious threat.
“You misunderstand. The executive director is indeed on vacation. We’ll convey your visit when he returns.”
Calmly responding, the secretaries were scrutinized by Hyun Ah, who then turned on her heels with a disdainful step.

She had become a laughingstock, unaware of her own fiancé’s whereabouts. That mockery seemed to follow her like a shadow.
Biting her lip, Hyun Ah felt a surge of humiliation. Her eyes burned with resentment. She cursed Jung Hyuk for disappearing on vacation after unilaterally calling off their engagement and despised Chairman Park for his indifference.
And Seon Yeong, who had threatened suicide if the marriage fell through, was now helpless.
“Oh? Isn’t that our future sister-in-law?”
A familiar, teasing voice halted Hyun Ah’s angry stride. She recognized the voice without needing to look.
Continuing her walk, Hyun Ah pressed the elevator button and finally spoke, “Long time no see.”
“Yeah, I missed you so much. I thought I’d die without seeing you.”
Typical of him.
Ji Seung Hoon, Executive Director of Myunghan Distribution.
He had been at the center of numerous scandals, including a sexual harassment case involving a female employee. Before that, he’d stirred chaos with an inappropriate relationship with another employee.

A scandal factory, notorious for his lewd behavior.
To Hyun Ah, Seung Hoon was nothing more than that.
“Here to see Executive Director Cha? He’s on vacation, didn’t you know?”
Trying to ignore him, Hyun Ah stared at the elevator panel. Seung Hoon chuckled, sensing her pride was hurt.
“You’ve grown up, Hyun Ah. You’re forgiving the guy who ditched you to go on vacation alone. If only you had been like that with me. You were so harsh with me, but now, tsk.”
At the mention of the past, Hyun Ah reacted explosively.
“Are you crazy?! We’re at the office! Why bring up the past?!”
Her sharp retort twisted Seung Hoon’s mouth slyly.
“Ah, that’s too bad. I had some good information for you, but now I don’t feel like sharing.”
“What? Good information…?”

Intrigued, Hyun Ah blinked rapidly.
Sunlight streamed through the large window, with dense tropical foliage casting a forest-like shadow.
Scattered sunbeams painted the elegant furniture and floor, adding a serene atmosphere.
Endless chatter came from the phone glued to his ear, but nothing worth noting.
‘Yeah, don’t know, we’ll see.’ He responded intermittently, barely attentive to the call.
Every so often, his gaze drifted diagonally to Chairman Park, leisurely sipping tea and browsing an economic magazine.
Jung Hyuk’s eyelids drooped again. The endless babble from chatty Manager Min was becoming a nuisance. He wondered how long he had to endure this one-sided, tedious conversation.
Just as he was about to show his annoyance, Hyun Ah’s name came up.
“Tired, hang up.”
With that, Jung Hyuk disconnected the call.
With a languid tone, he cut off the call, showing no regret. There was no need to listen further. The matter was even more trivial than a report about changing the trashcan in the executive office.

He tossed his phone aside and propped his arm against his temple, observing the old man with a sideways glance.
Returning to the residence after an unresolved fight with Yoo Da Jung at the airport, he found the old man’s minions waiting.
They probably didn’t want to create a scene at the airport.
Park Chairman looked up from her magazine as his insistent gaze lingered on her. She smiled kindly upon eye contact and put down the magazine.
“Did you have a good rest on your trip?”
“Grandma.”
“Yes, my boy?”
Park Chairman’s demeanor hadn’t changed; she still looked at her grandson with affection.
“Grandma knows everything, right?”
“What exactly?”

Park Chairman feigned ignorance, prompting Jung Hyuk to chuckle.
“Old lady, stop pretending.”
Finally, she laughed, admitting she was aware, and took off her glasses, indicating she was ready to talk.
“Word gets around even if I sit quietly. You’ve always been so nonchalant.”
Her following voice was generous.
“If you don’t want to marry Hyun Ah, then don’t.”
Jung Hyuk’s gaze, which had been staring into space, shifted. He was hopeful yet doubtful.
“Really?”
“If you don’t like Hyun Ah, choose anyone you want. But that girl is not an option. You understand, my boy?”
That figures.

“What I want and don’t want is up to me.”
Jung Hyuk’s gaze returned to the void.
Park Chairman continued.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
