Suddenly, as she anxiously watched, Su-yeon took a deep breath and burst into laughter.

In-ho, who had been focused on washing, turned his head.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Because I’m so clumsy at doing the dishes.”

Su-yeon said without hesitation.

In-ho made a forced smile, as if he felt teased by Su-yeon’s comment.

“It’s because I haven’t done it much. If I try a few more times, I’ll become skilled at it too.”

“You don’t need to be skilled. Why bother becoming skilled at doing the dishes?”
“Becoming proficient at something that was once awkward means that I’ve been helped a lot by you.”

As if it were obvious, Su-yeon raised her gaze to In-ho.

His expression, devoid of eye contact, seemed locked in deep thought.

Su-yeon hastily continued her words.

“I am content with what you do for me.”

“…What?”

“In-ho-ssi, thinking about helping me and caring for me, that’s more than enough.”

In-ho’s hand, which had been moving busily, came to a sudden stop.

Then, he looked at Su-yeon piercingly.

It was a face that seemed to be lost in more contemplation.

Su-yeon hoped he wouldn’t do that.

She truly felt that what he had done so far was more than sufficient.

“Even if you say that, I don’t think so.”

But In-ho seemed to disagree.

“I want to do more, I want to do better. I’ve decided to do that, so don’t stop me. I’m determined to do it.”

In-ho firmly revealed his resolution.

“I’ll make you happy.”

“…”

“Tomorrow will be happier than today, and the day after tomorrow will be even happier. I promise, Su-yeon.”

It wasn’t a story to be told with rubber gloves on, but In-ho wanted to express it nonetheless.

Although he had wanted to do better for Su-yeon from the beginning, meeting Hye-kyung a week ago had renewed his determination.

He wanted to make Su-yeon laugh more and make her even happier.

If the past 29 years were filled with unhappiness, he hoped that the next 29 years, or at least the next 58 years, would be happy.

He couldn’t explain this sentiment in detail to Su-yeon, but he hoped that when he completed all the preparations for her emancipation and handed over the key to her hands…

At least, let it be a secret until then. He would support whatever choice she made once she held that key.

‘So, until then, please pretend you don’t know anything. It will be easier for your peace of mind.’

In-ho thought so and focused on washing the dishes again.

Although it seemed necessary to revert to his original body sooner rather than later to accelerate preparations for emancipation, it was uncertain when he should choose that timing.

Hye-kyung had been quiet for a week, but she would undoubtedly find Su-yeon whenever it was time and wouldn’t hesitate to make threats.

‘I need to choose the right timing.’

Even if he reverted his body for the sake of preparing for emancipation, he would likely have to change it back soon.

Su-yeon knew she was unaware of Hye-kyung’s affairs, so she couldn’t tell her family not to contact her or prevent their meetings.

‘I have to choose the timing well.’

In-ho narrowed his eyes imperceptibly.

There were more problems to consider in gifting happiness to Su-yeon than he had initially thought.

Still, he was determined to accomplish it.

He couldn’t guarantee how Su-yeon would react after receiving the gift, but he wanted to believe.
If it’s her, she will undoubtedly receive my gift with joy and show a bright smile.

With that thought alone, In-ho regained his composure.

It was complicated, but he had to find a way somehow.

Late at night.

Hye-kyung eagerly waited for Dae-ho to return.

Recently, the relationship between them had become very uncomfortable.

The marriage issue with Hankyung Group wasn’t progressing smoothly, and it seemed to irritate her a lot. Even Hye-kyung was annoyed by that problem.

“What on earth does he do?”

It was the same during Su-yeon’s marriage, and she had also been the one to kick off Su-jin’s marriage issue.

Of course, when there was something that required help, she did assist, but even that was just meddling to a certain extent, as it was within the framework she had set up.

Thinking about it that way made her more resentful.

Examining the time, Hye-kyung slammed her wine glass down roughly.

“When is he going to come in? It’s pitch dark, and he’s nowhere to be seen!”

Her hysterical voice echoed throughout the dining room.

At that moment, a familiar presence was felt from the entrance.

Unlike the momentum when yelling into the void, Hye-kyung’s eyes looking at the entrance dimmed slightly.

“Why are you so late?”

While saying that, she couldn’t completely hide her dissatisfaction.

Dae-ho, who had just entered the house, briefly glanced at the dining room and headed to the bedroom without responding.

At the completely ignored attitude, Hye-kyung bit her lower lip.

After emptying the remaining wine in the glass, she followed Dae-ho to the bedroom.

“Didn’t you hear what I said?”

“Scratch your itch appropriately. Do you not know what I’ve been doing until this hour? You’re here to fix the mess you caused!”

Dae-ho shouted harshly.

Hye-kyung’s forehead wrinkled poorly.

A mess? She hadn’t caused this situation. It was Choi Su-yeon, not herself. So why did he keep blaming her?

Even if he hadn’t forced her into marriage, Su-yeon’s spirit wouldn’t have revived like this, and there wouldn’t have been a situation where she would feel anger.

Dae-ho had forced Su-yeon into marriage, to be more accurate.

But if she spoke up like that, she couldn’t predict how Dae-ho, who had been furious for a week, would treat her.

Suppressing her true feelings, Hye-kyung brought up the words she had kept in her heart.

“Choi Su-yeon, it seems like we need to get a divorce.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
