Su-yeon gazed intently at In-ho’s back as he walked ahead.

It was very familiar to see his back, but today it felt different.

His broad back seemed incredibly dependable.

Su-yeon tilted her stiff neck backwards to see In-ho’s face right above her.

“I kept getting distracted by what’s behind us,” he said before she could protest.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to shop together, like a date here?”

“Well, yes, but…”

“Why do you keep following me from behind?”

I like just looking at your back.

Su-yeon chewed on the words that filled her mouth and swallowed them back down.

She glanced around nervously.

“But still, there are a lot of eyes watching us doing this…”

“So what? We’re newlyweds and it’s normal to be like this when we’re so in love.”

“How can you two look so loving? Your husband must be very affectionate. Even out here, he won’t let go of you.”

The employee preparing eel tempura at the tasting stand spoke warmly.

Su-yeon, with her face flushed again, awkwardly shifted her gaze around.

In-ho responded smoothly to the employee’s words.

“Yes. I love her too much to be apart even for a moment.”

“Oh my, you’re so affectionate! How envious! I wish my husband was that affectionate. All he does is ask for meals whenever he sees me. I guess I look like a rice cooker in his eyes.”

The employee lamented with a burst of laughter but didn’t falter in preparing the food.

“Don’t say that, try this. It’s really delicious. I often buy it for home; my husband and kids love it too.”

Her lament quickly turned into a sales pitch.
With a quick movement, the tasting attendant handed Su-yeon a disposable soju glass filled with eel tempura, not wanting to lose a customer without a sale.

Caught off guard with the food in hand, Su-yeon blinked her eyelids and first offered it to In-ho.

Only after seeing In-ho eat did she put some in her mouth.

She was about to chew when the attendant, who had closed in as if to whisper, suddenly spoke out loud.
