If there were gods, you would see them too.
“Then that’s it.”
The priest rose from his seat. Dekarabia tidied up the place where the priest had been.
As if something filthy had come and gone, she even put the tablecloth into the fireplace. Watching her, Beril suddenly spoke.
“As much as possible.”
“Yes?”
Dekarabia looked back at her. Beril saw the carpet, brilliantly adorned with gold and red.
“More than that. Decorate it as splendidly as possible.”
At those words, Dekarabia’s eyes widened. Wasn’t she the one who had asked for restraint on excessive decoration just a short while ago?
But in Beril’s eyes, there was strong resolve.

“I understand.”
The current decoration did not suit Lord Beleth’s dignity anyway.
Dekarabia nodded, thinking lightly.
(This is a time separator.)
“Splendidly? You said to decorate it as splendidly as possible?”
Demon Naberus was literally jumping with excitement.
“Why? Just a few days ago you said not to do that?”
“Perhaps the decorations made by the temple were not to the Saint’s liking.”
The one who picked up the conversation was another demon, Ratli. He smiled, showing his teeth.
“There’s no harm in it for us. Were there any other instructions?”

“None.”
The one who passed on the word was Ronobe. At that, the demons chattered excitedly.
For demons more accustomed to flaunting desire with splendor, restraint was even harder.
They have accumulated nothing but gold coins while in the human realm. If they don’t spend the overflowing money on something like this, what are they supposed to spend it on?
Moreover, this wedding was no different from the ultimate battlefield from the demons’ perspective.
The stimulationdeprived demons were itching to find all kinds of stimulation. Just like developing a tolerance to a drug, ordinary human negative emotions couldn’t even serve as their nourishment.
But if all the humans on the continent, firmly believing that the Saint and the priests would defeat the demon, were to witness the defeat of the temple?
The despair and terror that would arise then would not only satiate the demons in the human realm but would also more than suffice to sustain the demons behind Hell’s gate.
So to them, this wedding was no different from a battlefield.
The battlefield where the great demon Duke Beleth personally led. How could they decorate it simply?

Above all, they did not like having to listen to the temple.
But now?
“The Saint wanted it herself.”
“As splendidly as possible, a Saint who knows something.”
“I thought the temple was full of boring humans.”
The problem was that their idea of splendor and majesty was different from Beril’s.
“First, bring all the trophies taken by the great Duke!”
“Let’s turn it all over today!”
An enormous array of items began to be loaded onto the wagon.
From the head of a giant wolfshaped monster to the ferocious claws and bone fragments of something, parts of wings hardened like fossils…….

They were about to be loaded onto the wagon.
“Wait a moment.”
The Saint appeared again.
(This is a time separator.)
I knew this would happen!
Beril had a feeling that Dekarabia would be excited to leave when she told her to decorate splendidly.
And looking at the items being loaded onto the wagon, they were truly, truly the kind of things a demon would have.
Is that protruding thing a bone? There are reddish marks on it, probably blood.
Moreover, that ghastly feeling of the skull……. Decorating a wedding venue with such a thing?
If so, the priests would surely rise up immediately and try to kill them, calling them demons.
Was it originally intended to be decorated like this? Was all of this under the thing brought last time?

No, did they ever seriously think about having a proper wedding? If so, there couldn’t be such a lack of planning, could there?
Finally, Saint Beril said to the demons, who seemed to know nothing about how humans decorate a wedding venue,
“I want to decorate my wedding as I like.”
Then the demons’ faces fell. Some of them frowned.
I heard that demons are thorough with the logic of power. The sudden savage energy was probably because of that.
A mere human, who is not even a mouthful, commanding me must not be pleasing.
But Saint Beril did not come thoughtlessly.
She recalled that not long ago Decarabia had cherished even the box that Beleth had given, and said,
“I will be the mistress of Vain.”
The mistress of Vain. She mentioned it directly in case it sounded a bit farfetched.

“I will be Beleth von Vain’s wife, I can decorate the venue, can’t I?”
As soon as the name Beleth von Vain was mentioned, the demons’ expressions changed.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
