Na Young sat in a chair, unable to move for a while.

But since what had happened was already done, she couldn’t just keep sitting there blankly, so she got up and went to check on the patient in Bed 6.

“Doctor, did you miss your shift end because of me? I feel so bad.”

The patient, instead, apologized to her, making Na Young smile and shake her head, saying no.

“I’m on call today, so if you feel unwell again, just call me. I’ll come right away.”

Back at the station, she was working on chart documentation that Kim Young Mi should have done when she spotted Dong Gun and Kim Young Mi returning together from the ER.

Na Young jumped up from her seat in surprise.

“Senior Kim, are you okay?”

Chief Dong Gun responded to her question with an exasperated look.

“She made such a fuss about being in pain, yet when we ran tests, there wasn’t anything actually wrong.”

Kim Young Mi scratched her head, sounding defensive.

“I really was in pain earlier, Chief.”

Normally even-tempered and never one to get angry, the Chief now glared at Kim Young Mi, visibly furious, and issued a warning.

“How can a doctor whose job is to heal the sick pretend to be ill? As punishment, you’re on call for a whole week!”

“What? Chief! That’s way too harsh!”
