Na Young always thought it foolish for a woman to fall for a man’s sweet nothings and give herself away completely. She knew that regretting trust in a man’s words after a breakup was too late.
Despite her rational mind warning her not to fully trust Tae Hyuk’s words, her heart couldn’t help but feel joy. Maybe, for the moment, his words could be sincere.
“Do you say these things because you expect something from me?” she asked, smiling slightly. Tae Hyuk chuckled in response, as if he could read the busy thoughts in her mind.
It would have been more peculiar if Na Young, once almost kidnapped due to trusting someone’s kindness, had become an adult who easily trusted people. A reasonable level of caution was necessary for her safety, even towards him.
Tae Hyuk leaned towards her and spoke softly, “Of course, there is.”
It seemed no man was entirely selfless towards a woman. Na Young looked at him expectantly, her eyes wide and sparkling.
“Dream about me tonight,” he said, catching Na Young off guard. She wondered why he, no longer a young boy, would want such a thing.
“If we kiss, you’re guaranteed to dream about it,” he added, reaching to hold her face. Na Young quickly turned and ran away. Tae Hyuk persistently followed her, insisting that she must dream about him that night.
Na Young couldn’t comprehend why someone in such a respectable position as a professor would act this way.
Awoken by the shrill alarm, Na Young couldn’t get up as usual. True to Tae Hyuk’s instruction, she had dreamt about him. In the dream, she and Tae Hyuk were classmates in medical school. Even as a student, Tae Hyuk boasted about being a surgical genius, surrounded by admiring female students, leaving Na Young with no chance to get close. She spent the night secretly pining over classmate Tae Hyuk, waking up in a sour mood.

“It was a ridiculous dream.”
The phone rang just as she was about to get out of bed. It was a message from Tae Hyuk.
Na Young reached for her phone to find a message from Professor Tae Hyuk.
“Did you dream about me?”
She glared at the message instead of replying. She was sure Tae Hyuk, during his medical school days, must have been surrounded by female students just like in her dream. Na Young didn’t respond and tossed her phone onto the bed, but another message soon arrived.
“Mrs. Hwang isn’t feeling well and can’t prepare lunch boxes for a while.”
Reading about Mrs. Hwang, Na Young immediately picked up her phone to reply.
“Is she very unwell? Shouldn’t she be brought to the hospital?”
“It’s just a cold. I’m planning to visit her at home.”
Na Young felt a sense of gratitude towards Mrs. Hwang for the lunch boxes she had received. She wanted to accompany Tae Hyuk to visit Mrs. Hwang, but she hesitated as it was his family home. Likely, Tae Hyuk’s grandfather lived there too. Visiting his home seemed appropriate only if their relationship was serious enough for marriage. Na Young pondered but eventually decided not to ask if she could join him.

While Na Young was preparing for her usual hospital duties, Chief Dong Geon approached her with a question that created a rift.
“Is there any issue with the daughter of patient Lee Cheol Kwon and you?”
Na Young paused, analyzing Dong Geon’s expression. Knowing his character, he wouldn’t recklessly ask such a question based on rumors.
“Why do you ask?”
“Lee Cheol Kwon’s daughter wants you as her primary physician.”
It seemed like an attempt to keep her close for potential manipulation.
“So?”
“Professor Choi instantly refused. He said it’s against hospital policy to change primary physicians on a whim.”
Na Young hadn’t heard anything about this from Tae Hyuk, which irked her. He had clearly kept it from her.
“Is patient Lee Cheol Kwon undergoing surgery today?”

Dong Geon nodded. Na Young figured Lee Ju Ah had been quiet all this time likely due to her father’s upcoming surgery. Upsetting the surgeon before the procedure wouldn’t benefit her.
The real issue might arise after the surgery. However, Na Young wasn’t as worried as she had been initially.
“If what Professor Choi said in the cinema was all true, he is the most important to me too.”
They hadn’t committed a crime; they just liked each other. If they couldn’t be open about it, that would be the real disservice to their feelings.
“Chief, what if I were to date someone?”
Dong Geon looked at her as if he’d been struck.
“You, dating?”
His surprise hinted at how others viewed her.
“Does it seem very unbecoming?”
“Well, people change when they fall in love.”
Na Young, her face flushing, denied it was love.

“It’s not love, just dating.”
“You need feelings for dating too, especially someone like you,” Dong Geon asserted.
Na Young couldn’t deny it. She couldn’t imagine being with someone unless she really trusted them.
“Anyway, I think it’s really great.”
Dong Geon’s encouraging words brought her comfort and courage.
“The only person in our hospital who seems least likely to date is Professor Tae Hyuk.”
An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most
One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.
This novel has the following triggers, so if you’re sensitive to these, please don’t read:
1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.
It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.
(This applies to her relationships with Male Lead 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well, but she’s loyal in each 1-on-1 relationship!)
2. In this novel, Male Lead 2 and the female lead kiss in a car, and Male Lead 1 sees it and beats up Male Lead 2.
The female lead calls the police and sends both Male Lead 1 and 2 to the police station! Male Lead 1 begs the female lead not to break up with him.
3. Male Lead 1 has a gentle appearance but an obsessive personality.
Male Lead 2 has a delicate and soft appearance, slightly green tea-like (two-faced).
Male Lead 3 is a youthful college student and a smart person who has secretly liked the female lead for a long time.
Male Lead 4 is the female lead’s father’s special assistant, a business elite with deep, hidden thoughts.
4. At the beginning of this novel, the female lead has already broken up with Male Lead 1 (Chapter 4) and gotten back together with Male Lead 2 (ex-boyfriend).
5. Enter with caution if you have triggers!!!
