Na Young took out her phone to check the time.
By now, Professor Choi Tae Hyuk should have finished his surgery and it was about time he found the bouquet she left in the lab.
‘I wonder if the flowers made him feel a bit better?’
That thought kept nagging at her.
It would have been nice if he sent a text saying he received the flowers well, but the complete silence made her feel upset.
Rrrrrrrr Rrrrrrrr
As the phone rang, Na Young pressed the call button without even checking who it was.
“Hello.”
[It’s me. Sis.]
As soon as she heard her younger brother’s voice, Na Young was immediately disappointed.
Her younger brother Hwi Young was a college student, but he took a leave of absence because he was drafted into the military and was currently hanging out.
[Mom told me to bring you the new clothes she bought. I’m almost at the hospital.] It seems their mother went out and bought her more clothes.“I told her I don’t need new clothes because I’m always at the hospital.”
[Don’t tell me, tell mom directly. Because of this, I’m late for my friends.]
Na Young sighed.

It was a bit cruel of her younger brother to blame her when he knew she couldn’t do as he said.
Tae Hyuk left the bar, got in a taxi, and headed straight to the hospital.
It was only after hearing Cha Hyun’s words that he realized he had been too biased.
Believing whatever gossip the residents casually chatted about was foolish.
He ended up doing the same thing as the people who spread rumors and spoke ill of him without knowing the truth.
Asking Moon Na Young directly was the most accurate and fair thing to do.
If she really talked about another man, he figured he would feel worse, but he hated seeing himself lack the courage to properly ask her.
When the taxi entered the hospital’s driveway, he saw Moon Na Young coming out of the main entrance.
It felt like their hearts were connected, so Tae Hyuk brightened up, but his expression hardened when he saw the man she was approaching.
He was a young man in his 20s with a tall stature and refreshing looks. He was the type any woman would like.

The man handed Moon Na Young a paper bag with a department store logo on it, and she accepted it without any signs of refusal.
When Moon Na Young grabbed the man’s hand as he was about to turn and leave, Tae Hyuk felt as if something snapped inside him.
Then, the two exchanged a few more words.
“Sir, aren’t you getting out?”
The taxi driver asked, looking strangely at Tae Hyuk, who hadn’t moved despite having arrived at the hospital.
Tae Hyuk couldn’t get out of the taxi until Moon Na Young disappeared into the hospital’s main entrance.
Startled.
Upon opening the door and entering the research lab, Tae Hyuk walked straight to the sofa and plopped down.
There were 50 reports on the desk that Nam Ho Jin had brought, but Tae Hyuk had no intention of checking them. It was obvious that they were just cobbled together anyway.
He did not want to worry about such trivial matters now.
The sight of Moon Na Young and a strange man he had seen at the main gate weighed heavily on his mind.

He thought it was possible that she had avoided him when she first saw him at the hospital.
It must have been difficult to act casually towards a man she had spent the night with.
So he pretended not to remember. It was for her sake.
But he just realized. The reason she rejected him was not only because it interfered with her major training.
The fact that he was just a disposable object to her, something to sleep with for one night and then done, angered him, and hurt him.
For the first time, Tae Hyuk regretted the night he had spent with her.
It would have been better to just bump into each other for the first time at the hospital.
Then he would never have seen Moon Na Young as a woman.
Then he wouldn’t have been this pathetic today.
Tae Hyuk closed his eyes and tried to sleep.

He just wanted to rest without thinking about anything now.
The next day.
Na Young prepared for the round earlier than usual.
She thought that Professor Choi Tae Hyuk must have seen the bouquet by now and his attitude would definitely have changed.
Although she hadn’t confessed or anything, as the time for him to appear approached, she became increasingly tense.
Seeing Professor Choi Tae Hyuk walking from a distance, Na Young smiled at the corner of her mouth.
But the moment their eyes met, her smile disappeared at his cold and heartless gaze.
The bouquet must have been a failure too.
It seemed like the more she tried, the more he disliked her.
Frankly, Na Young thought Professor Choi Tae Hyuk was too much.

She had bought a bouquet for the first time in her life and given it to him, but Professor Choi Tae Hyuk’s attitude had become even colder than before.
If the two of them had a personal relationship, not a professional one, she would have broken off with him right away.
How can a person have no sense of appreciation!
When he passed by her, Na Young called him impulsively, annoyed.
“Professor Choi.”
His dry gaze turned to her.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
