Upon hearing his introduction, Munsungcheol made a bitter expression.
The dislike for Choi Taehyuk had already exceeded its limit, so he didn’t want to see a friend who might be similar, even if he was a famous director.
“Right away in my office!”
“I’m on my way after meeting Detective Park Jaesu’s wife in New Zealand.”
Munsungcheol, who was about to drive him away, stopped when he heard that Cha Hyun had met and come back with someone.
It was someone he hadn’t seen for eight years because the contact had been lost long ago.
Cha Hyun took out an old notebook from his bag and placed it on Executive Munsungcheol’s desk.
“It’s a police notebook from Detective Park Jaesu’s wife.”
Munsungcheol’s gaze fell on the old notebook. The cover of the notebook had the scribbled handwriting, ‘Park Jaesu.’
Munsungcheol remembered that handwriting.
“Read it by finding the date when my daughter was kidnapped.”

Munsungcheol lifted his head and glared at Cha Hyun.
“Why should I bother reading the records of that day?”
Even recalling the memories was painful.
“You’ll understand why your daughter insists on Choi Taehyuk if you read it.”
In his eyes, Nayoung was simply obsessed with a man.
But there was a reason for it.
Munsungcheol didn’t want to admit it at all, and to say those words without hesitation, he had to look at the police notebook.
Munsungcheol took a sharp breath and unfolded the notebook.
And he continued to flip through the pages until he found the date Nayoung was kidnapped.
The police notebook was densely filled with records of events on each date.

When the date he was looking for appeared, Munsungcheol’s hand stopped.
Reading the detailed account of Nayoung’s kidnapping that day felt like being stabbed in the stomach.
When he felt he couldn’t see it anymore, a name came up.
Munsungcheol’s eyes shook significantly.
He read what he had read several times, wondering what he had read.
“Taehyuk’s name appears in the police notebook in other places. If you’re suspicious, you can look further.”
Cha Hyun had read the police notebook from beginning to end on the plane.
Taehyuk didn’t just save Nayoung. Taehyuk’s name appeared 17 times in the notebook.
During those days, Taehyuk endlessly saved someone and saved himself.
None of those Taehyuk saved repaid him.

“The person who saved your daughter that day was indeed Choi Taehyuk. Please believe.”
So, could you at least believe in that, Cha Hyun earnestly begged.
When Nayoung woke up in Room 1005, she really didn’t want to go to work at the hospital. But Nayoung, already dressed after washing, was waking him up.
When she asked if their love had cooled overnight, Nayoung looked down at him arrogantly and said,
“You’re my slave for a week. Get up right now.”
She looked ready to whip him, so Taehyuk had no choice but to get up obediently and go to work at the hospital.
And the hospital was busy as usual.
Unfortunately, today was a day for outpatient consultations, so he had to sit in the consultation room and meet numerous people.
As if declaring that he would never see him resting, Taehyuk was exhausted meeting patients and their guardians who kept coming in, one after another. Suddenly, Oh Seung-hee popped out from behind the door and asked him,
“Did you talk to Director Cha Hyun on the phone?”
“He’s in New Zealand.”

“He returned yesterday. He contacted us through the radio.”
The fact that the radio actually worked was more surprising, so Taehyuk looked at Seung-hee.
“So what should I do about it?”
Facing Professor Choi Taehyuk’s uncooperative attitude, Seung-hee could only express disappointment and leave.
Taehyuk glanced at his phone.
‘He’s back?’
He had to call after finishing outpatient consultations.
So much had happened while Cha Hyun was in New Zealand, and there would be a lot to talk about when they met.
According to Cha Hyun, he was like a lighthouse in Taehyuk’s life, like a dangerous area.
When he didn’t know the way or was about to take the wrong path, Cha Hyun always warned him.

He believed the same would happen this time.
After completing morning patient consultations, Taehyuk sent a message to Nayoung.
It was subtly amusing.
It seemed like everyone had a bit of a pervert in their hearts.
While laughing to himself as he looked at his phone, when his eyes met with a nurse, Taehyuk immediately flipped the phone and put it down.
And as he was about to leave, the outside suddenly became noisy.
“Oh my! It’s Director Cha Hyun.”
“Wow! Seriously!”
Cha Hyun?
There was no way he would come to meet him during the busy outpatient hours.

It was obvious that chaos would ensue, just like now.
But suddenly, the person entering through the door was indeed his friend Cha Hyun.
“Why are you here?”
Taehyuk asked in confusion, and when Cha Hyun turned his head to look back, he froze.
And the person who appeared at the door was none other than Vice President Munsungcheol.
Taehyuk was like ice in that spot.
Munsungcheol walked toward him with brisk steps.
He was definitely angry at him for making such a big announcement about marriage as soon as he returned from New Zealand.
While being scolded by him with his eyes, Taehyuk instinctively assumed a defensive posture.
“Did you really save my daughter?”

When asked in an unfamiliar tone, Munsungcheol’s voice trembled thinly, and Taehyuk was momentarily stunned.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
