“If it were my liver, I would’ve come to you. But it’s my stomach. I knew you were busy and didn’t want to bother you.”
“Even if Mrs. Hwang hides her illness, it negates the purpose of me becoming a doctor. You should rely on me when you’re sick, just like a family.”
Cha Hyun’s words left Mrs. Hwang at a loss.
“Come with me to Han River University Hospital tomorrow and get admitted. I’ll be there for your surgery.”
Mrs. Hwang didn’t know how to respond to their persistence.
When Mrs. Hwang learned that Tae Hyuk would be entering the operating room, tears welled up in her eyes. Since discovering her stomach issue, she had resigned herself to not being operated on by Tae Hyuk and thus chose a different hospital, thinking it would only be her suffering.
Alone, the weight of cancer felt unbearably heavy. But hearing Tae Hyuk would join the surgery lightened her heart, relieving her fear.
“Mrs. Hwang, don’t worry. With Tae Hyuk and me here, you’ll recover quickly,” Cha Hyun reassured, holding her hand. Mrs. Hwang, overwhelmed, could only nod in response.
Outside, Hong Sik grumbled about being excluded.
Leaving the annex, Cha Hyun asked Tae Hyuk, “Since you’re going to the hospital with Mrs. Hwang tomorrow, you’ll stay here tonight, right?” Tae Hyuk just nodded.
“Then, make sure to call Na Young before tonight ends,” Cha Hyun advised, causing Tae Hyuk to frown.

“I can handle it myself now,” Tae Hyuk responded confidently, showing how much he had changed. Cha Hyun chuckled, “Let’s see how long that lasts.”
As Cha Hyun left, Tae Hyuk gestured angrily at his back. After Cha Hyun’s departure, Tae Hyuk, standing in the garden, was about to call Na Young when a raspy voice interrupted him.
“If you’re standing on my land without permission, you should pay,” it said. Tae Hyuk, irritated, lowered his phone and turned to see an old man, dressed in outdated clothes, approaching.
“It’s all your fault, Grandpa!” Tae Hyuk retorted, blaming the old man for Mrs. Hwang’s cancer after 30 years of nagging.
Waking up in the morning, Na Young saw a late-night message from Tae Hyuk.
Expecting Tae Hyuk to have gone with Yoon Ina, Na Young was surprised at the mention of Cha Hyun. She wondered if Tae Hyuk already knew what happened without her saying. Perhaps it was better for her to stay away until Mrs. Hwang’s surgery was over.
Na Young went about her usual routine, attending to the wards and preparing for rounds.
“Professor Choi Tae Hyuk won’t be joining the rounds today due to personal reasons,” the chief announced. While others murmured, Na Young remained quiet, aware of his plans with Mrs. Hwang.
“I wish he would take a break for a few days. It would be nice not to see the venomous snake’s face,” Nam Ho Jin said, relieved at Tae Hyuk’s absence. Na Young glanced at the back of his head, mindful of Tae Hyuk’s situation.
Na Young glanced at the back of Nam Ho Jin’s head, who was pleased that Professor Choi Tae Hyuk hadn’t shown up. The morning rounds ended earlier than usual without Tae Hyuk.

“Hey, isn’t that Professor Choi Tae Hyuk over there?” Nam Ho Jin, who had been wishing for Tae Hyuk’s absence for days, was the first to spot him.
Everyone’s gaze followed where Nam Ho Jin pointed. Indeed, Tae Hyuk, in casual clothes, stood with an elderly woman and a big man, with Professor Yoon Ina in front of them.
“What’s going on there?” everyone wondered, confused. Na Young’s eyes dimmed upon seeing Tae Hyuk and Ina together.
Although she understood the situation, her heart couldn’t easily accept it. Tae Hyuk and Ina were together for Mrs. Hwang’s sake, not a place for her to intervene. She turned away.
At that moment, Hong Sik noticed Na Young and tapped Mrs. Hwang’s shoulder, pointing in Na Young’s direction. Mrs. Hwang, about to greet Ina, suddenly excused herself, “I’ll see you later, Professor Yoon. I have someone else to meet now.”
Confused, Tae Hyuk watched Mrs. Hwang leave and turned to Hong Sik, asking, “What’s happening?” As Hong Sik just grinned, Tae Hyuk raised his hand in questioning but paused, noticing Na Young in the direction Mrs. Hwang headed.
The residents of the hepatopancreatobiliary surgery department were surprised to see the lady with Tae Hyuk walking towards them.
“Na Young.” When her name was called, Na Young, who was walking away, halted and turned around to see Mrs. Hwang approaching her.
Mrs. Hwang held a familiar lunchbox. “I made a lunchbox since I was coming to the hospital today.”
Na Young stared blankly at the offered lunchbox, never expecting to receive it that day. “Enjoy your meal.”

In reality, it was Mrs. Hwang who needed comfort, being the one who was ill. Yet, her comforting Na Young with a lunchbox moved Na Young to the verge of tears.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
