“Why? Didn’t you just tell me to say it straight if I want to go?”

“Anyway, not that place.”

The teddy bear balloon standing at the entrance, holding a microphone and a tambourine, looked downright sinister—like a gatekeeper of hell.

Jun Hwi scrunched up his face in disgust.

“Don’t tell me even Attorney Kwon Jun Hwi, the top lawyer in the industry, has something he can’t do?”

“If you really want to go, go with your friends. I’ll sponsor you.”

“Wow. You listened to the song carefully the whole time—why can’t you just sing it yourself?”

“Who said I can’t? I just don’t.”

Even as he insisted, Jun Hwi folded his arms and crossed his legs dramatically. The old folding chair beneath him creaked loudly, looking tiny—almost child-sized—under his tall frame.
