“Oh, I’m late. I’m sorry.”

Duke Magine, entering the drawing room, calmly swept his slightly tousled hair behind his ears and smiled.

“Because of the commotion the other day, I had so much to handle I was completely overwhelmed. I truly apologize.”

At Duke Magine’s repeated apologies, Duchess Belua gave a faint smile and waved her hand once.

“No, no need to apologize at all. Something quite significant happened tonight, so we understand perfectly. We’re fine, aren’t we, son?”

Duchess Belua turned toward Hith while gently fluttering her fan, but he remained silent. Hith stared straight ahead with a rigid, stiff expression—clearly uncomfortable in this setting.

Duke Magine looked at Hith with slightly narrowed eyes, recalling the words of that fellow Pablo, who just moments ago had been passionately arguing, veins bulging in his neck.

“He even said that the Crown Prince of Ksia himself was searching for Lord Ant—going so far as to personally search through gambling dens.”

If Pablo’s words were true, it meant Hith had also known that the commoner princess was alive and had been looking for her. Things were becoming increasingly interesting.

Concealing his thoughts, Duke Magine elegantly poured tea. A subtle, calming fragrance quickly filled the drawing room.

“Have you given it some thought?”

The duke’s voice was deceptively light as he asked, yet while waiting for a reply, he unconsciously clenched his molars. Since failing to capture Prince Kirian, the mana stones had become an absolutely crucial card for her.

“Well, I’ve certainly been thinking about it constantly.”

Duchess Belua smiled sweetly.

“As for my son, I can’t say for sure.”
