Kirian woke up at the crack of dawn the next day and headed straight to the garden.

The gardeners had already begun their daily tasks.

When Kirian appeared, they greeted him politely.

“Young master, good morning.”

Kirian nodded solemnly.

“Good. You’re working hard.”

Instead of heading to the training grounds, Kirian lingered in the garden, prompting the youngest gardener to cautiously speak up.

“Is there, perhaps, something we can help you with?”

Kirian nodded solemnly again.

“Indeed.”

When Kirian explained the situation, the head gardener firmly shook his head.

“I’m sorry, young master, but that’s difficult.”

Even though Kirian was the sole heir of the ducal family, he couldn’t command the estate’s servants at will.

The ducal family was a strict meritocracy. Even the future duke couldn’t give orders to the servants without earning their respect.

Kirian rubbed his chin with his small hand, deep in thought. Soon, he found a solution.
