“But what do you mean by correcting things?”
At my question, Kirian tilted his head slightly.
“Ah, I was rude to Prince Gerald.”
“Rude?”
Gerald started splashing saliva again as he raised his sword.
“I was rude! Extremely so! Take responsibility!”
“I accidentally leaked the fact that he hugs a rabbit doll every night.”
Kirian’s gloomy voice pierced through Gerald’s clear voice.
I was momentarily at a loss for words at the unexpected response. Gerald seemed to be in the same situation, as he stumbled over his words, repeating one phrase.
“What, what?!”
Kirian nonchalantly tilted his head.
“I came to argue about the rabbit doll that I spilled ink on last time.”
Gerald began to bounce and roll on the floor.
“What, what’s this?!”
But Kirian’s languid voice came through more clearly than his ranting.
“I thought it wouldn’t matter if I said it so casually, but it seems that’s not the case.”
Gerald was flying about, hitting the air with his fists. Kirian wagged his head and winked at me.
“See? A strong denial is an affirmation.”
I imagined it. Kirian would have said without hesitation in front of other students, “Prince, I spilled ink on the rabbit doll, and I’m sorry for it. You won’t be able to sleep.”
Without caring whether Gerald became the laughingstock of others.
I understood why Gerald was jumping like this, but Kirian’s overly calm attitude bothered me.
Being overly calm, it was suspicious, but I couldn’t ask any more, and just nodded my head.
“…I must apologize properly.”
I was a bit scared. Kirian, lying to me.
“If my sister says so, I have to.”
But Kirian, without showing any sign of being shaken, closed his beautiful eyes and smiled.
I awkwardly raised the corners of my mouth in response to his smile.
“Then, let’s share stories.”
No longer able to act, I fled from the place.
(This is a time separator.)
“The effect of the lightning rods is tremendous. Thanks to that, the extermination team has become idle.”
Hiss showed me around the village, pointing to the lightning rods installed high in various places. The charred marks here and there seemed to indicate that they had done their job well.
“Father seems also to be leaning towards our alternative. The deputies will be persuaded to our side once the rainy season is over, and the official performance report is submitted.”
“That’s fortunate……”
Hiss narrowed his brows and examined my face.
“Do you have any pain? You look lethargic.”
“Oh, no. I’m just a little tired.”
All day long, my head was complicated because of Kirian.
Kirian had never deliberately lied to me, but lately, I felt that there were more and more things I didn’t know about Kirian.
It might have been natural, as he was no longer just circling around me, but it bothered me more than I could admit.
“Shall we move inside then? By chance, the village lord has prepared a dinner banquet for Reina.”
“For me?”
Hiss smiled sweetly, folding his green eyes.
“In this village, Reina is a hero.”
I ended up slapping Hiss’s back.
“Again! Again! You’re giving all the credit to me?”
When Hiss turned his eyes sheepishly, I slapped him again.
“What good is it for me to be a hero? I can’t live by selling fame. The future crown prince should be the hero!”
As I ranted, Hiss wore an ambiguous smile.
“It’s true that Reina gets the credit.”
And then, with a somewhat serious tone, he continued.
“Being a hero of Ksia and getting Reina to feel a little attached to Ksia is better for me than gaining fame, don’t you think?”
“Haha, fame doesn’t really appeal to me.”
I declined the offer to escort Hiss. Although Hiss seemed a bit hurt by my small joke, she quickly forced a small smile.
I felt sorry for Hiss, but I thought it was the right thing to do to decline now.
However, Hiss soon reached out his arm as if nothing had happened.
“Shall we go and enjoy Reina’s congratulatory feast?”
I didn’t miss the opportunity to avoid the situation and immediately linked arms with Hiss.
“I’m going to set everything straight at the evening feast, so don’t think about interfering.”
“I will interfere with all my might.”
We finally headed towards the banquet hall in the center of the village, quarreling all the way. As soon as we entered the building, raindrops began to fall with heavy thuds.
(This is a time separator.)
I stifled a yawn in secret.
Strictly speaking, there was no reason for me to feel uncomfortable here.
The villagers all welcomed me warmly, and everyone believed wholeheartedly that I was the inventor of the lightning rod, thanks to whatever Hiss had said.
But rather, it was this hero treatment that was gradually draining my energy.
A landlord, flushed from too much alcohol, raised his glass again for a toast.
“For the future crown prince and princess!”
A cheer erupted, and Hiss gave an apologetic glance and smiled awkwardly.
“For them! For them!”
“You really suit each other well.”
“You’ll surely become a great royal couple in the future.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
