“What did you just say?”

The notion that Prodia wanted him was utterly baffling.

Edgar adjusted his glasses with a perplexed look and asked,

“You couldn’t possibly have a romantic interest in me, could you?”

At this, Prodia’s face scrunched up in displeasure.

Seeing her reaction, Edgar sighed in relief.

“It definitely seems like you’re not interested in that way. That’s a relief.”

“Thank you for realizing that quickly.”

Prodia continued her explanation.

“As you probably already know, Luca and Irtis have contracted with me for the Buma Tournament. I plan to continue recruiting competent talent.”

“Aha. So, you want me to join your team.”

“That’s right.”

“But I don’t really need your help.”

“I’ll prove my abilities by guessing the details of your trust.”

Edgar stared at her intently.

It didn’t seem like she was boasting without basis.

Prodia added,

“If you join hands with me, you’ll be able to keep getting information about the Buma Tournament. You are an information broker, after all. It seems like a worthwhile deal.”

Edgar was deep in thought.

Of course, he had heard of her skills, known as the “Pincer Master.”

Moreover, the presence of the two men next to her piqued Edgar’s interest.

A Grand Mage from Matop and a Miracle from Daeshinjeon.

How did she manage to convince them to join her?

Such a combination would undoubtedly be beneficial for Edgar’s goal.

The accursed goal that forced him to participate in the Buma Tournament.

Therefore, she was essentially offering what he needed the most.

However,

‘Can I really trust this noble lady?’

After a moment’s hesitation, Edgar finally made a decision.

“Fine. But this is only if you correctly guess the details of my trust.”

He had a good reason to be confident.

The details of his trust were not something easily discovered.

‘Nobody would expect what’s actually in my trust.’

Prodia nodded her head.

“Understood.”

Although she responded confidently, turmoil raged inside Prodia’s mind.

‘…I’ve gone too far.’

What if she gave a wrong answer?

Then she would lose both the trust and Edgar Preehido.

She’d have to borrow money from Irtis, probably taking years to repay the debt.

But Edgar was worth that risk.

Not just for his skills, but because having such an information broker as an enemy was dangerous.

Prodia began to sort her thoughts calmly.

Since Edgar mentioned the content of the trust was a ‘game event,’ she had been thinking about something related to her past life.

Surely there must be a reason the gods chose her.

However…

‘There are so many elements in that program.’

Songs of idols, dance, rap, spectacular fashion and stage effects, performances showing talent, group missions, public votes.

Among all these, what could pinpoint the trust?

She had to choose wisely, yet accurately.

Finally, Prodia made a decision that felt almost like a gamble.

Just then, Edgar asked,

“So, what is the correct answer?”

This was her only chance.

Prodia swallowed nervously, trying not to show her tension.

She looked straight into Edgar’s eyes and spoke.

“The answer is… music.”

What could encompass everything in the idol audition program she had planned?

Prodia’s answer was music.

However, Edgar’s expression did not look good upon hearing her answer.

A cold sweat trickled down Prodia’s back.

‘Did I get it wrong?’

Prodia tried to remain composed while waiting for Edgar’s response.

Finally, he opened his mouth.
“Music, such a vague answer. Could you be more specific?”

At those words, Prodia’s heart began to race.

Ed wouldn’t have said that if her answer had been completely wrong.

Music was definitely close to the correct answer.

But to be more specific here…

Prodia sank deep into thought.

Idols do music.

They rap on stage, dance, and sing.

And the oracle came down at the grand temple.

So, the common factor between the two is…

Suddenly, a choir flashed through Prodia’s mind.

And then she finally knew the answer.

‘They all sing together!’

That was it.

The deity must have commanded through the oracle to sing praises for him, no doubt!

Prodia confidently answered Ed.

“The correct answer is choir. All the participants sing together to praise the deity. Is that the content of this oracle?”

“Hmm.”

After a brief silence, Ed spoke slowly.

“That’s correct.”

“……!”

The tension she had felt until now was instantly relieved.

Although her heart was pounding, Prodia struggled to maintain her composure.

Meanwhile, Ed had completely misunderstood the situation.

‘Did she really know the content of the oracle? How the hell…?’

It was astonishing.

This oracle was a secret that even he, the empire’s top informant, had learned only after great difficulty.

Who would have imagined that a contest for selecting the empire’s matriarch would include singing?

But how had this noblewoman obtained the information about the oracle in just one day?

Adjusting his glasses, he asked,

“You certainly are as talented and resourceful as the rumors suggest. May I inquire about the source of your information?”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
