The two of them returned to their room and were preparing for bed a little earlier than usual.

Reus, emerging from the bathroom a bit late, sat quietly on the edge of the bed and watched as Roel dried her hair. Then, feigning calmness, he casually started a conversation.

“It seemed like you were having a long talk with Teron earlier.”

“Oh….”

Anyone could tell he was curious about what they had discussed. Roel immediately recognized his intention. But after pondering for a moment, she quickly brushed it off vaguely.

“It was just… various things. Nothing particularly important.”

In truth, to put it kindly, she had merely smoothed things over—though in reality, it was outright evasion.

But Roel had her own reasons.

‘What if I try to make up a plausible excuse and accidentally slip up?’

Especially when talking with Reus, she often found herself unwittingly drawn into making promises she never intended to keep or adding words she never meant to say.

If it had been a trivial topic, she might have sat beside him and chatted casually. But from start to finish, her conversation with Teron had been solely about Reus.

Particularly because she had indirectly revealed her own feelings during that talk, it felt even more awkward to recount the details.

Yet she couldn’t very well fabricate a story that might upset Reus if he heard it.

In the end, Roel indirectly told Reus, who was still clearly curious, that she didn’t wish to discuss it further.

“There wasn’t any special conversation, so I really have nothing else to tell you.”
