I’d been awake for quite a while now, yet still hadn’t gotten up.

After all, today was the day I had to settle the “double” I’d promised Reus.

‘Why on earth did I make such a promise…?’

I should’ve just kept saying no until the very end.

For the four days since boarding the cruise, I’d managed to avoid shopping by using the travel schedule as an excuse, but aside from the masquerade ball scheduled for this evening, there was virtually nothing else planned for today.

In other words, after a leisurely lunch, I’d have more than enough time to wander around the shopping center and spend twice the amount I’d packed in my luggage.

I was deeply troubled over what excuse I could possibly use to avoid it this time.

‘I clearly never intended to actually pay that money—how did things end up like this?’

I was pretty sure I’d originally said “no” firmly enough. Yet somehow, before I knew it, I’d found myself nodding along to Reus’s words.

Just as I was trying to retrace that day’s memories to figure out exactly where I’d gotten myself tangled up, I heard the rustle of sheets behind me.

‘Pretend to sleep. No matter what, just keep pretending to sleep.’

Fortunately, I’d woken up already turned away from Reus, so there wasn’t much else I needed to do. I relaxed my muscles until my body felt utterly limp and focused all my attention on keeping my expression completely blank.

‘If I keep sleeping, maybe he’ll just leave me alone the whole day without waking me.’

He might even take one look at how exhausted I appeared and suggest I rest in the room for the day. After all, wasn’t Reus the kind of man who made a fuss over the slightest cold?

I kept my eyes shut for a while longer—then, without warning, something suddenly brushed against my cheek. It began gently moving up and down, softly rubbing my cheek. Judging by the firm, distinct contours, it felt like Reus’s fingers.
