Reus couldn’t get Roel’s face—seen during breakfast earlier today—out of his mind. He’d tried every trick to erase the thought, but, as usual, failed miserably.

Eventually, Reus abandoned his work and headed straight to the office Roel used.

He’d come here entirely of his own will, yet couldn’t understand his own actions.

He had no particular reason to meet her—so why had he come? Roel likely felt the same way.

Besides, his fake fiancée seemed so uneasy around him that she’d probably not welcome his visit. Yet, strangely, his feet refused to move away.

Reus mulled over his reason thoroughly, trying to justify his behavior—but the true cause, which he hadn’t even realized himself, was far simpler than expected.

He hadn’t seen Roel taking her usual stroll in the garden just below the office at her usual time today.

Still entirely unaware of the true nature of his feelings that day, Reus set aside the reason for now and simply knocked on the office door.

Instead of the expected voice, the door opened immediately, revealing his aide, Dwin.

“Your Highness…! What brings you here in person?”

Dwin was utterly bewildered—he’d never imagined his master would personally visit Your Highness.

If His Highness had come all this way himself, it must be something incredibly urgent.

Tensing slightly as he awaited Reus’s reply, he was met instead with an abrupt question.

“Where’s Roel?”

“Oh—Your Highness left just a while ago… Wait, what?”
