“Is it true that a bastard born of shame knows no shame? I don’t think I can eat any more macarons.”

Because you’ve already eaten enough.

Then someone on the opposite side muttered loud enough for all to hear.

“Disgusting.”

That woman really…

I almost snapped my mouth shut but maintained my composure.

But as I did not react, their conversation filled with anger continued.

“Undoubtedly a maid should elevate her master’s honor, but really… I can’t even mention this situation in front of Her Highness the Princess!”

“One maid damaging Her Highness’s dignity… My heart is racing…!”

That’s it.

The point where I shouldn’t hold back.

They might think they’re attacking me, but they’re actually helping me.

I suppressed the smile tugging at the corners of my mouth and approached them.

And then spoke, quite solemnly and decisively.

“Yes, as you said, I am a maid serving Her Highness Princess Miliora. Recommended by one of the Little Suns of Tagar, I came to serve Her Highness. And yet, you publicly insult me in front of my master.”

“How, how can you be so brazen?”

“Whose presence do you think this is, to audaciously open your mouth in front of Her Highness?”

Ignoring their words, I stood upright, tilted my chin up, and looked down at them.

I didn’t expect an opportunity to mimic the Head Maid’s gesture would come so soon.

“May I ask, do you not know that insulting a maid is an insult to her master?”

“What, what did you say?”

“Whether you know it or not, it’s problematic.”

“That girl…!”

When Keril couldn’t contain her excitement and stood up, the noble next to her pulled her arm and made her sit back down.

They belatedly realized their mistake. By acknowledging me as a maid to Her Highness, they had granted me authority.

The face of seated Princess Miliora was icy and looked like steel. The faintly shining silver hair made the Tagar royal family seem distant and separate from ordinary humans.

One of the nobles hastily spoke, trying to salvage the situation.

“We had no such intention…”

Her Highness’s command was short and soft.

“Everyone, leave.”

The sound of rustling dresses and squashed heels on the carpet quickly faded. I chuckled when I saw one of them hastily grab a macaron from the table as they exited.

After everyone had left and the door closed, Princess Miliora finally turned her head towards me. Her lips were trembling, clearly indicating her excitement.

Even in this excited state, she looked as if she’d rather not speak with the likes of me. I could tell how intensely she despised me.

The contempt in her gaze was different, sharper and more sensitive than what I’d usually encountered. Honestly, it hurt a bit.

Princess Miliora’s voice was sharp, though it matched her small frame.

“What are you doing now, Roar?”

I bowed my head respectfully in response.

“I passed the two tests set by the Head Maid. You called me afterwards, so I assumed my duties had begun.”

“Who? Made you a maid?”

Princess Miliora looked like she couldn’t stand me any longer. It was time to withdraw.

“Since the tea party is over, shall I take my leave?”

“Ha!”

I exited the reception room as is.

In the main hall, Aria was standing, looking at me with fearful eyes.

I headed straight for my room. I flopped down onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. Maintaining the posture and etiquette of a noble lady was as draining as enduring the insult of being a bastard.

I was not in a good mood.

I knew why she had neither cursed at me nor thrown anything in a fit of rage. The reason she had not overtly insulted me was also clear.

It was because I was a bastard. Too filthy to even talk to or touch.
Hatred and anger presuppose the acknowledgment of the other’s existence. But to her, I was not even worthy of that.

I decided to abandon my perspective that taking care of Misha was merely due to my higher social status.

At least Misha hit me, schemed against me, and confronted me. She didn’t disdain me to that extent.

In retrospect, this Lorisha Roar often pretends to be strong, but she always ended up defeated by reality. Whether it was losing her mother or giving up the academy. She couldn’t even maintain her job at a herbal store.

If I consider that this self-destructive sense of humiliation originates merely from the Princess’s silence, then she was truly a Targar.

“Milady, may I come in?”

It was Ariana.

“Sure. Come in.”

She looked at me and awkwardly smiled. I was curious about the meaning behind that smile.

Is it the camaraderie of being oppressed by the Princess, or the fact that I am not much different from them as an illegitimate child?

I was always in an awkward situation, neither here nor there, so I didn’t feel uncomfortable that she didn’t treat me as a Roar.

Ariana looked at me and asked, “Are you alright, Milady?”

‘Milady.’

Hearing the changed title, I smirked. It seemed that my earlier audacity had at least touched a palace maid.

And that title, surprisingly, made me feel much better.

I didn’t fully recover my spirit, but it gave me the illusion that I hadn’t ruined everything.

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
