“Ah!”

As Misha opened the door, a fierce slap flew at her. She was thrown against the seat of the carriage.

The countess spoke with an icy voice, her body trembling.

“It’s because of you… because of you, I have to endure this humiliation. Get out, you stupid thing!”

The countess pointed to the door, extending her hand. Misha was left outside the carriage, too shocked to even shed tears.

Only after the carriage left the academy’s yard did Misha burst into tears.

(This is a time separator.)

Misha shut herself in her dorm room, crying and crying.

‘Stupid thing.’

The countess had never called her that before. Misha Roar was always pretty, elegant, sociable, and hailed as a musical genius.

You were born with all the blessings and deserve to enjoy them as a child.

Misha felt as if the sky was falling at her mother’s changed attitude, but she also knew that anyone would react this way knowing her grades.

The one hope in this terrible situation was that her mother would keep the secret from her father. She prayed over and over that her father would not find out.

Until now, Misha had been confident that her grades would improve as she continued to study hard. If she did well on the final exam, everything would be solved.

But with her mother discovering her current grades, her false hope collapsed as well.

She still spent about a third of her study time looking up words in the dictionary. Sometimes, she wrote the spelling wrong in class and couldn’t find the word in the dictionary. Then, she had to guess the meaning and study it.

It had gotten a bit easier since receiving help from home tutors, but it was realistically impossible for her, the lastranked, to suddenly rise to the middle rank.

To fail in the first semester at the academy as the daughter of the third lion, who manages the emperor’s left side.

And if that happened, she would lose face in front of Duke Caidel. That was what bothered Misha the most.

‘If it were Lorisha Akbari, she would’ve endured it here too.’

A fleeting thought was followed by a terrible idea.

Lorisha’s notebook. The home tutors saw it and asked if another teacher had come. When Misha got to the academy, she realized the notebook was almost like a textbook.

Misha realized that Lorisha was not the only one with such a notebook. The academy was full of bookworm Akbaris like Lorisha.

Then, she thought of Kallin Ankart, who seemingly hated adornments but twisted her brown hair because they interfered with her studies.

She must have a perfectly organized notebook for Misha, no doubt.

‘Should I ask to borrow the notebook?’

Misha bit her lip and shook her head. Why would Kallin do such a favor?

Unless one was absent due to illness, the students considered borrowing notebooks shameful. It was like admitting that their ability to study on their own was lacking.

As the daughter of the third lion, she couldn’t behave like that.

Misha thought of the most familiar way.

‘It’s just for a moment. If I return it right away, it won’t interfere with Ankart’s studies.’

With her mind made up, she went to bed.

And the next day, she returned to her room early and waited for the opportunity. When the students scattered for study or rest, she headed to Kallin Ankart’s room.

Sneaking in, Misha opened the door and rummaged through Kallin’s desk drawer. She found a notebook marked ‘Final Exam Preparation.’

Holding it tightly, she turned to leave, only to find Kallin Ankart, with a cold smile, standing at the door.

“Eek…!”

Kallin calmly smiled. Misha was familiar with those cruel eyes and that soft smile curling around her lips. It was the same as the countess’s.

So she was terrified.

Kallin closed the door behind her and said,

“Miss Roar, I cannot believe what I’m seeing.”

“Misunderstanding… it’s not! Miss Ankart.”
“What’s the misunderstanding? That you sneaked into my room and rummaged through my desk? Or that you tried to steal my notebook? Hm……. Were you planning to cheat with that?”

“Cheating! Never! I would never do something like that!”

Cheating would lead to immediate expulsion and a ban on readmission. They would even publicize the reason. It was the academy’s highest crime.

Kalrin’s words contained a sneer that Misha wouldn’t be able to memorize what was in the notebook anyway, so it couldn’t be used as a cheat sheet, but the terrified Misha didn’t notice it.

“Oh. So you’re just a thief, then? Hmph…….”

Kalrin trampled on Misha with a quiet and soft voice, as if she didn’t want anyone else to hear their conversation.

“It’s such a shame that you’re going to be expelled after you got so inflated in your dreams about being classmates with the third Duke’s daughter. What do you think?”

Misha had no thoughts about it.

She clenched her teeth and violently shook her head. Tears scattered.

Kalrin gently walked over, smiling, and snatched the notebook that Misha was tightly holding. Misha clung to it as if it were her lifeline, but eventually released it, powerless.

Misha licked her lips and sobbed, then finally found her voice.

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.

On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.

Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.

News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.

Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.

But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.

The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.

The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”

So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.

She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.

*

After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.

Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.

Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.

She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.

“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
