Upon hearing those chilling words, every hair on my body stood on end. I quickly approached Duke Kaidel and whispered,

“What are you doing, let’s go.”

At that, Prince Greyan abruptly turned and departed. As I followed him with quick steps, Duke Kaidel silently moved.

Walking down the dim hallway, I felt my heart pounding wildly in the silence.

‘Where are they going with those suspicious items?’

‘Will I be able to return alive?’

When we exited through the third palace’s side gate, someone pulled a hood over my head.

“Haah…”

When the hood was removed, a brilliant morning sea stretched before my eyes.

I held my wind-tangled hair in the sea breeze and looked at the water surface, as if sprinkled with fragments of the sun.

Duke Kaidel handed me a wooden cup filled with hot tea.

“Drink.”

I silently took the cup. We were on the helm of a large ship.

The men on the deck, dressed in nondescript black clothing, revealed no signs of their identity.

Their demeanor alone made it clear they were not mere sailors.

Turning my head, two unmarked ships followed us from either side. Duke Kaidel was leading a small fleet somewhere.

After being transported blindfolded all night, my body was sore, and I was too drained to be scared.

Taking a sip of tea, I asked listlessly,

“Are you moonlighting as a pirate because it’s the holidays?”

Duke Kaidel widened his eyes momentarily, then burst into laughter. He hadn’t expected such a question.

The men on the deck glanced at us, curious but not for long.

Despite being younger than most of them, they seemed to fear him.

Duke Kaidel said, as if to divert my attention,

“We are currently in international waters.”

International waters? Really?

“How… far did we… go? …Quite far.”

I stammered, my eyes welling up with tears.

“Are you going to throw me into the sea?”

“If Lord Roar…”

“Enough with the letter talk!”

Duke Kaidel wore an expression of regret.

Clearly displeased that I had preempted him, his face hardened.

But he soon regained his composure and said,

“Of course not.”

“…”

Prince Greyan, whom I had met this time, was a doubtful and impatient person.

Both Her Majesty the Queen and the Princess had cruel tendencies. The Tagars all seemed to possess a brutal streak.

So, what could Duke Kaidel do if he ordered me to be thrown overboard?

Noticing my despair, Duke Kaidel stared intently at my face and said,

“I won’t let that happen.”

“…”

How? How will you defy royalty?

As if he heard my thoughts, he smiled.

“People like me.”

“Ah. Yes.”

I weakly responded and took a sip of tea.

His confidence seemed absurd, but oddly enough, some strength returned to me.

That didn’t mean my situation had changed, but my mind was becoming complicated for other reasons.

I wanted my words to sound as joking as possible and asked with a feigned smile,

“Are you currently committing treason?”

To which he narrowed his eyes and smiled,

“What do you think?”

My hands trembled, causing tea to spill from the cup. Duke Kaidel took the cup from my hand with a click of his tongue.

“You don’t seem to have much trust in me, Lord Roar.”

“…”

Though he was smiling at me, anyone could tell it was not a genuine smile.

Look at those icy, sinking eyes!

I clenched my teeth inwardly and took the cup back from him, taking another sip.

“We’re not that close, you know.”

“…”
“But why did you save me? Considering the current situation, it seems that His Highness Grayon’s judgment was correct.”

Even if I didn’t know what would happen next, it was undoubtedly dangerous and secretive. I wouldn’t have spared anyone who witnessed such a thing either.

Then Duke Kaidel flatly replied.

“I don’t want to answer. I’m sulking.”

I was at a loss for words. That’s some skill.

I blurted out,

“We aren’t friends.”

“…….”

Feeling a decade older, I continued.

“So, what’s the reason for saving me despite opposing the Second Prince, with whom we are not even friends? At least tell me why.”

“Apology.”

“Well, it’s true we’re not friends…….”

Then he opened his eyes arrogantly.

“Don’t you people even try? Don’t you know gratitude?”

“I’m sorry……”

I felt defeated. No, I was utterly defeated.

But what could a hostage expect?

I looked up at the blue sky of the sea in a feeling of desolation and indifference.

Then he spoke.

“Let’s just call it a hobby.”

“A hobby? Risking lives?”

He turned away from me without a word. Clearly, my question was not to his liking.

However, I didn’t think I had said anything wrong. He had a habit of frequently risking his life to save me.

“…….”

I forgot what I was going to say.

His purple eyes, staring at me, seemed like a mixture of the blue sea and red sun. They were emotionless, cold, and intense at the same time.

His gaze made all the questions I had feel meaningless.

He casually replied,

“Having you around will certainly keep me from being bored. As long as you’re alive, of course.”

Ah, I see.

I sighed deeply.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
