Late at night, Kalif hurried towards the Prince’s palace, fatigue forgotten. The urgency was due to the words he had just heard from Felix upon returning to his chambers in the royal palace.

[Why are you so late today?] [Goodness, you’re never satisfied. Complain when I’m early, complain when I’m late, anyone would think you’re my wife.] [Ha, enough with the nonsense. Go see Evelia quickly.]

Before he could even grasp the meaning of the abrupt words, he felt uneasy. Until now, he had avoided mentioning Evelia’s name frivolously, and he wondered if the intent now was to openly expose his clandestine meetings with her.

He was about to object right away. But before he could open his mouth, Felix’s voice pierced his ears.

[The Empress visited Evelia this morning.] [What? The Empress?] [Not sure if she sensed something, but she’s subtly pushing Evelia away using the necklace you gave her as an excuse.]

Felix’s explanation was detailed, as if narrating an event he had just witnessed. However, Kalif wasn’t listening properly.

All he could think of was how Evelia might have been hurt by the Empress’s outrageous behavior.

Although Felix hadn’t finished speaking, Kalif left the Prince’s palace as if he no longer needed to hear any more.

Today, for some reason, the distance to the Prince’s palace felt incredibly long. The further he went, the more he hastened his steps.

The Prince’s palace started to come into view from afar. Just by that, Kalif felt his heart pounding anxiously. Thinking about how much Evelia must have been hurt after meeting the Empress, he felt suffocated.

A sigh naturally escaped. Even though he was exerting so much effort to make her happy, he couldn’t understand why it was so difficult.

His chest tightened. His already fast pace nearly turned into a run.

He wanted to see her so badly.

Lying on the bed, Evelia softly closed her eyes and then lifted her eyelids with a gentle sigh.

She had been sleeping quite well for the past few days, but tonight, no matter how hard she tried, sleep eluded her. Her mind was unsettled due to the events of the morning.
With barely a blink, she finally rose from her seat. Her longstanding bouts of insomnia had taught her the best course of action in such moments.

Evelia donned a thick shawl hanging on one side of her bedroom and left. When her thoughts cluttered her mind, a cool breeze and a walk were the best remedies.

Phalen would have been shocked, perhaps even fainted, had he known, but tonight she wanted to do as her heart pleased.

Evelia descended the stairs quietly, holding her breath. She lifted her feet high, worrying her soft footsteps might wake one of the maids residing in the Prince’s palace.

Only after she reached the last step did she exhale the breath she’d been holding, looking back. The stairs and hallways, shrouded in darkness, were eerily silent.

It seemed like a successful escape. Or so she thought, provided she didn’t make eye contact with anyone.

“……Your Highness?”

Evelia halted her steps, her face filled with surprise. Liurian stood as if frozen at the entrance of the Prince’s palace.

As if entranced, her legs moved towards him. The moment she stood in front of him, his eyes narrowed and latched onto her silhouette.

“Where are you going dressed like this at this hour?”

Taken aback by his voice, Evelia glanced down at her attire. It was virtually her nightgown, with a shawl draped over it; hardly suitable attire even for a quick escape to the garden right in front of her.

Evelia’s lips moved, but no words came out. In that moment, he closed the distance that remained between them.

His slightly ragged breath briefly touched the top of her head. When she looked up, she saw his face, slightly flushed.

It tickled her heart for a moment.

“Did you run all the way here?”

Evelia asked before she knew it. Although her initial thought was that it was improbable, there was no other reason for his breath to be this ragged.

“……I was in a hurry.”

He answered after some hesitation. His response sent ripples through Evelia’s already sentimental heart.

A smile broke irrepressibly onto her lips.

This was why. She wanted to see more of this side of Liurian that existed only in her imagination. To savor the pleasant excitement she had never felt even in her dreams. Hence, she willingly demeaned
No regret filled him for making that choice.

“Would you like to join me for a walk tonight?”

He felt nothing but happiness.

For being able to make that choice.

For being able to ask her out on a date so naturally at this late hour.

“Yes.”

The answer he had been waiting for arrived.

There was no way he could not be happy.

Evelia tightly gripped the hand he had extended before her.

“I heard Mother has called you to the Empress’s palace.”

As they were crossing the middle of the Crown Princess’s garden, he cautiously inquired. She briefly looked up at him, surprised, then nodded.

“How did you know? Have you also met with the Empress?”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
