Evelia couldn’t overcome the momentary confusion that washed over her and let out a sigh. However, she couldn’t just send Khalif away like this.

Her heart felt uncomfortable with an experience she had never encountered before, but she, unaffected, quickly grabbed his arm. She was about to speak again to soothe him hastily.

Before she could spit out the words that had risen to her throat, Evelia found herself captivated by an indescribable emotion. She wasn’t the only one caught in this strange feeling.

Khalif, who had been heading towards the reception room with evident anger, stopped abruptly, looking at Evelia as if it were a lie.

The oppressive energy that made both of them unable to blink persisted for quite a while.

At first, Felix, who had been looking at the two stiffened figures strangely, soon detected an unusual atmosphere and widened his surprised eyes.

“Just now… what?”

Amongst the stunned atmosphere, Khalif was the first to open his lips. He looked at Evelia and then Felix with eyes filled with disbelief.

As surprised as Khalif was, Evelia and Felix couldn’t readily respond.

The shocked emotions and the settled atmosphere lasted for quite a while. In the static that seemed unbreakable, Evelia was the one who voiced out.

“I… I think I did it.”

Evelia alternately looked at Khalif and Felix with a half-dazed face. The voice she barely uttered was filled with a bewildering emotion.

Felix opened his eyes wide in disbelief.

“You did it?”

“Awakening, I mean.”

“Really?”

Felix, as if unable to believe it, mumbled but couldn’t contain his joy and burst into a bright smile. However, Evelia couldn’t bring herself to smile while looking at Felix.

She still couldn’t shake off the bewildering feeling. After days of desperate effort, it happened just through a small interaction with Khalif.

Evelia looked down at the hand that had grabbed Khalif. At the exact moment she grabbed him, she felt a strong force that couldn’t be expressed with any words rapidly absorbed throughout her body.

That wasn’t all. Before she could realize what it was, an unprecedented and enormous force, which she had never felt before, penetrated her heart and mind.

It was undoubtedly an experience she had never had since birth, and Evelia could clearly understand. That moment was the awakening moment she and Felix had been eagerly waiting for.

Evelia blinked her eyelids slowly and let out a warm breath. Right next to her, she could feel Felix’s energetic movements of joy, but her time seemed to flow slowly.

It felt as if she were dreaming. In that moment, a familiar back of a hand came into her view.

Evelia slowly raised her gaze following the arm connected to the back of the hand. As she did, not far away, Khalif’s face became vividly visible.
He wore a worried expression again, as if questioning when he last got angry.

“Are you okay?”

He asked cautiously. Unlike Felix, there was no trace of joy in his tone, just concern for her.

Even though she knew he was worried, Evelia still couldn’t muster any response. After a while, she finally regained her composure and nodded her head.

“Yeah. I’m okay. Khalif, are you? Are you okay?”

Approaching him, Evelia grabbed his wrist. Something happened when their flesh touched, and belatedly, concerns flooded her mind about whether there was any problem for him, unlike herself.

But, disregarding the worry, he enveloped her hand with an unaffected touch, lightly pressing his lips against her hand.

“I’m okay too.”

He replied with his usual voice. Only then could Evelia let go of her worries.

Releasing her grip on him, she let out a sigh of relief. However, as she loosened her grip, he firmly held onto her released hand.

“You’ve been through a lot. Really, you’ve suffered a lot all this time.”

He whispered in a sincere tone. It was a genuine congratulatory message for her.

Feeling the sincerity so vividly, Evelia couldn’t help but brighten up, as if asking when she had been bewildered.

With a relieved smile, she reached out her arms towards him without hesitation. Finally, she felt like everything had returned to stability.
