I’d heard of boss monsters or Unknown-rank monsters, but never of a World Boss. Indeed, something of that caliber would probably require all six S-ranks just to barely hold it back.

I calmed my mind and gazed at the rift in the air, from which dark blue energy was spreading.

I just need to stop it before a thousand people die. Eleven have already fallen, but as long as the number doesn’t rise any further…

Another fatality was added in that moment. I looked at Baek I Hyun.

“Please start by evacuating everyone first. Since this is a wave and not a gate, there shouldn’t be any restrictions on where people can move.”

“Okay.”

“I’ll go find Lee Ryeo Hyun right away. He must be somewhere nearby—cooperating with him is our best chance to stop this wave.”

“Will you be okay alone?”

“I’ll be fine. I’ve practiced enough to handle monsters on my own by now, so there won’t be a problem.”

Baek I Hyun nodded at my words. Though he held the vague role of a supporter, this much was manageable for him.

“Then I’ll leave it to you.” With those words, he leapt into the air like a bird taking flight. People’s eyes followed him—could he really manage the evacuation alone?

To my surprise, however, the crowd readily obeyed the Hunter who appeared amidst the chaos. Good, that side should be fine.

I hurried off to find Lee Ryeo Hyun.

I’d heard plenty of grim tales about waves, but this was my first time experiencing one. Beyond evacuation, endless monsters filled the sky without pause. At this rate, even evacuating people wouldn’t help.

I pulled out my staff, dealt with any visible monsters as I moved, and noticed people here and there who hadn’t managed to flee yet.
