Cheon Shin Woo had acted completely recklessly with regard to several Gates. He would barge into Gates strictly regulated by law and clear them on a whim, or even shut down Gates that were supposed to remain open for investigation—behaving as though no rules applied to him.

In principle, the Republic of Korea mandated that all Gates be managed under state supervision. Upon discovery, a Gate had to be immediately reported to the Association, assessed for its attributes and difficulty level, and then appropriately assigned to qualified Hunters and Guilds.

Yet Cheon Shin Woo treated the law as if it couldn’t restrain him at all—he would arbitrarily shut down even Gates like Sync or Erosion. So much so that even Lee Ryeo Hyun, who had learned from him, once closed a Gate before its investigation could even begin.

Nevertheless, the Association never confronted Cheon Shin Woo. They claimed it was acceptable since he caused no harm to those around him, and because the Gates he closed were mostly ones whose losses outweighed any potential gains as resources.

Among certain Hunters, rumors spread that the Association was simply too afraid of Cheon Shin Woo to conduct proper investigations. This was practically common knowledge. After all, how could anyone not fear a man who had single-handedly shattered a fledgling national institution with his own power?

Thus, the incident of the Sync Gate appearing within the Guild grounds was never properly investigated either.

Given that this was the only known occurrence of its kind worldwide, it demanded thorough investigation—to determine whether such an event could happen again—but no useful information was ever obtained.

Everyone dismissed it as a mere one-time anomaly, convinced it would never recur.

And so they arrived at the current crisis.

“…It’s blocked.”

The Gate-related issue within the Guild grounds—something deemed impossible to happen twice.

Amid crackling red system windows and a Sanctum laid bare without a shred of proper information.

The wind blew under an ominously gathering sky. Kang Hyuk frowned as he stared at the system message: “Unauthorized personnel may not enter.”

According to testimonies from those nearby at the time, countless red system warnings had flashed, displaying phrases like “Main Stream” and “World Boss.”

Though they’d been too disoriented to conduct a proper investigation, even those who experienced the “World of Loss” during Am Wol’s new Guild Master inauguration claimed they had seen the words “Main Stream.”
