Sister, I'm the Queen This Life (330 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 87
“Your Eminence! Master Ippolito has returned!”
At the news of his eldest son’s return, Cardinal de Mare, who had already gone to bed, instantly sprang up. He had retired early to preserve his strength, as he was scheduled to lead the kingdom-wide New Year’s Mass the next morning.
But his eldest son had come home! Still clad in his nightclothes, he rushed downstairs to greet him.
“Ippolito!”
“Father!”
Ippolito boisterously embraced Cardinal de Mare, squeezing him so tightly the older man nearly collapsed. Standing at four piedi and two diti tall (approximately 182 cm), Ippolito easily swept the diminutive cardinal into his arms.
Cardinal de Mare, who stood barely four piedi (about 170 cm), found his nose pressed firmly into his son’s chest, struggling for breath and flailing his arms helplessly.
Realizing belatedly that he was suffocating his father, Ippolito loosened his embrace. The cardinal promptly cleared his throat to reclaim his composure.
“Yes, Ippolito. Welcome back. Have you finished your studies in Padua well?”
A fleeting look of dismay crossed Ippolito’s face, but it vanished instantly.
“Of course, Father! What do you expect? I’m your son, after all! All the lads in town followed me around begging to copy my homework.”
It was true that his friends had followed him—but only to mooch free cigarettes. Still, Ippolito figured that didn’t count as lying.
Ippolito’s commotion on the first floor roused the rest of the household. One by one, family members began descending the stairs. Arabella appeared at the top of the central staircase, wearing her nightgown and clutching a large teddy bear, to greet her elder brother.
Given their large age gap, Ippolito and Arabella had grown distant. He merely nodded briefly at her before shifting his attention to the next person.
A girl with jet-black hair stood on the stairs, clad in a lavish nightgown and wearing the golden signet ring of the lady of the house on her index finger, gazing down at him.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
