Sister, I'm the Queen This Life (330 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 149
Ariadne remained extremely busy for the next two or three days. During her stay at the palace, a great deal of household affairs had piled up.
She paid merchants for daily necessities, finalized contracts for the coming year, tore down and repaired old items, and distributed wages to her household staff. Amid this whirlwind, she hadn’t even had a moment to think about the palace—when a message arrived from the palace itself.
“Madam Carla!”
On the fourth day after Ariadne returned home, Madam Carla, the queen’s confidante, arrived personally at the de Mare mansion.
“If you’d only sent word ahead, I could have prepared a more generous reception for you.”
Ariadne greeted her with customary courtesy in the reception room she now used as the lady of the house. Though she spoke politely, the Gaeta mountain rose tea she hastily served was a rare, high-grade commodity difficult to obtain on the open market. Yet Madam Carla didn’t even bring the cup to her lips and replied stiffly,
“I’m not here as a guest, but as a messenger—so there’s no need for guestly treatment.”
She pulled a letter from her bosom and handed it to Ariadne, who immediately opened and read it. It was an invitation.
“To Lady Ariadne de Mare,
A small formal dinner will be held at the Queen’s Palace this coming Saturday. Your presence would greatly honor the occasion.
—Queen Marguerite.”
Madam Carla huffed crossly,
“You said you wanted to become Her Majesty the Queen’s confidante, didn’t you? Her Majesty took note. The guest list is very exclusive, and your seat will be placed quite near to Her Majesty. Consider it an honor.”
Yet Ariadne was thinking something entirely different. Queen Marguerite had died by poisoning during a small banquet held within the palace.
‘But it shouldn’t be this soon yet—has it already begun?’

The Villainous Demon Lord Laid an Egg for Her (Female-Dominated)
Several months after transmigrating into a book, Yu Wu found herself facing the demon lord Li You, who could no longer conceal his dragon horns. With one hand on her aching waist and the other gripping a sharp sword, she stared at him.
The demon lord’s eyes were red with fury:
“This is all your doing! Today, I won’t rest until I kill you!”
Yu Wu rubbed her temples. Putting aside the taboo against bloodshed during pregnancy, wasn’t it this very man who willingly walked into her trap that day?!
