Where did it all go wrong? I should have left for Viscountess Dely’s residence by now, so why am I trapped in this luxurious room?

‘What is this, exactly?’

When I shouted that I had to leave, the knight locked the door even tighter.

At first, I was dumbfounded, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I became.

‘So because someone has strength, they can just lock people up like this?’

What’s the difference between this and Johnston’s brute force?

At least Johnston was an opponent I could counter if I prepared thoroughly. But Duke Artenbach is someone who can defeat me with just a flick of his finger—even if I defend perfectly—and that made me furious.

Finally, I leapt up from my seat and paced around the room. Then I stepped out onto the balcony.

Looking down, I realized this was the third floor—much higher than an ordinary building. It was dizzying, but not so high that I couldn’t climb down.

‘There’s a knight down there too.’

The claim that he could defeat me with just a flick of his finger was true. Beneath the balcony, and beneath the bathroom window, knights stood guard.

‘He said he’d keep me locked up until the negotiations ended.’

Then I just need to end the negotiations.

I strode firmly toward the door and shouted with all my might.

‘Let’s negotiate!’
