A hideous nightmare, and an utterly cliché.
And, my favorite scene.
“Tyrant Nikolai and villainess Elizabeth will be executed!”
Claudia, the heroine of “The Silver Knightess,” shouts.
With silvery hair swirling with skyblue light, and transparent blue eyes, just as described in the novel.
I’ve bingeread the heroine fantasy called Minorah countless times because of Claudia.
Especially beautiful, and naturally strong, my favorite.
I admired her.
When reading Claudia’s adventures, I momentarily forgot my miserable life.
What would it feel like to be possessed by Claudia?
It would be nice to be with her even as a supporting character!
I harbored the ridiculous wish of book possession.
I never thought it would happen like this.
“I’m innocent! Nikolai made me do it all!”
A shivering metallic sound bursts from my throat.
The inheriting lady of the great dynasty, the villainess who led the empire to ruin, Elizabeth.
That’s me.
“Don’t you feel sorry for the people who died because of you?”
Claudia stares at me expressionlessly.
I retort, fitting for a villainess.
“Who did I kill?! Bring the corpses and show me!”
“Indeed, you feel no remorse at all.”
“Is this jealousy, Claudia? Because Douglas, whom you had a crush on, chose me? How is that my fault?”
A sapphire flame lights in Claudia’s eyes.
But only for a moment, soon recovering her composure.
“I’m just executing a criminal as the wish of the empire’s citizens.”
The strongest knightess, rigid and stern.
If I weren’t kneeling at the guillotine, I’d be praising her to the high heavens.
“The crime of seducing many men, including Duke Nettleton. The crime of ruining the state with the tyrant. The crime of squandering the national treasury and assassinating empresses.”
Claudia recites Elizabeth’s wicked deeds.
The evil emperor, Nikolai’s crimes are also listed.
“The crime of kidnapping women using the emperor’s power. The crime of treating them as playthings. The crime of abandoning the emperor’s duty. The crime of disgracing the honor of the Hartman Empire with debauchery…”
Even without Douglas’s involvement, Claudia would have executed the villainess and tyrant and restored justice.

Elizabeth was beautiful.
Not just pretty, but stunningly beautiful.
Her intense pink hair, as if bleached four times and dyed, and thick curls that maintained their bounce without a curling iron were unfamiliar.
The mysterious black eyes that seemed to suck in everything in the world also seemed similar yet different to her past life.
But Elizabeth’s domination as the queen bee of the social world wasn’t solely because of her appearance.
It wasn’t thanks to her wealthy parents who cherished their only daughter, either.
Elizabeth had a special ability. One that perfectly suited a villainess in a novel.
“The Duke Nettleton has come to visit.”
Maid Nancy announced with a timid voice.
She seemed afraid of a peevish scolding falling on her.
“I’ll be down soon. Please tell him to wait a moment.”
I answered quite reasonably, but Nancy’s eyes widened.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
