The man’s footsteps breaking the silence and the woman’s quick steps following him echoed through the corridor.

Rodric confirmed Diana’s presence the entire time he walked.

He repeatedly gripped and released the slender wrist in his hand, as if checking whether it might be an illusion.

He didn’t even feel how hot his own hand was, as if burned by fire.

“Ah.”

Stagger. She couldn’t keep up with his stride and stumbled. With beast-like physical ability, he scooped Diana into his arms in one motion.

“Be careful.”

The blue eyes that had been only cold were now burning like blue flames rising from the depths.

Feeling her breath up close, Rodric was relieved. As if that wasn’t enough, he held her tightly and headed to the bedroom.

“Rodric.”

“……”

It was a strange experience. Sharing a body with another person but watching the situation as a third party was not a pleasant sensation.

The body faithfully responded to her, but he couldn’t move it at his own will, leaving him only frustrated.

He sat on the bed and placed her on his lap. Without a word, worry appeared in her pink eyes under his fixed gaze.
