The sound of her racing heartbeat seemed to echo in her ears.

Her slightly parted lips closed tightly as if her heart would leap out, and the heat rushed to her eyes.

This isn’t right. Why is he being so seductive? Diana’s face reddened as if it would burst.

She hadn’t realized she was so weak for handsome faces. Her own brothers were quite the lookers too.

Her eldest brother was the main antagonist of this world.

But why should a man with only a line’s mention be as dangerously alluring as the main characters of the narrative?

Tears welled up in her eyes unexpectedly.

“I feel like I’m going to burst. Diana.”

What’s going to burst?

A fleeting improper thought passed through her mind.

The atmosphere he exuded was so sensually captivating that her face flushed even more.

“There’s no subject in your sentence!”

Really, my face might just burst. A laugh escaped her without her realizing. Amusing.

She was curious what it would taste like to pop something so tightly wound or to gently tap it and watch it react.

A new emotion invaded her space again.

He decided to act more honestly.

Watching the sleeping woman endlessly, he pondered how to treat her, who had stepped into his world without a sound.

To him, unfamiliarity always brought discomfort. But this discomfort had become not so bad, though he thought himself out of his right mind for feeling so.

The time and space shared with her felt peaceful.

A lifetime of suppressing bloodthirsty cravings under a vicious curse.

The most mind-consuming aspect of the curse was the specter. The family curse traps its victims in the relentless grasp of their ancestors’ specters, forever roaming their pasts. It was why he severely detested touching anything with his bare hands.

The shock of being drenched in his mother’s blood as a child was etched deep in his bones.

Diana easily shook off that past that he had taken for granted.

She’s different, showing him how to live every moment vibrantly. She never gave him time to dwell on the past.

Who would have imagined he could touch someone with bare hands?

Though it was limited to her, the warmth he felt on his skin was not unpleasant.

Maybe he could survive this cursed life.

He chose not to ignore the sensation welling up from deep within, grasping at this strange emotion, determined not to lose whatever lay at its end.

A new kind of madness flickered in his eyes, different from the curse’s insanity.

“Ah, right. Roderick.”

The touch on her cheek reminded Diana of slapping Roderick’s face before fainting.

“Did it hurt a lot? I slapped you to snap you out of it.”

As if she’s one to talk. Even after being cut by a sword, she thought little of it.

Fearless or indifferent? But indifferent didn’t fit, as Diana disliked pain.

“Did it not hurt you?”

Her last words before fainting were about pain.

Roderick released her hand, rubbing his thumb over the area on his neck where the injury had been.

Now flawlessly healed by a cleric’s treatment, blue veins showed under his smooth skin.

He seemed incredibly vulnerable.

“…Well, it might have hurt.”

The pain before fainting was overshadowed by the agony of near death.

That pain was less significant than the present. It was all right as long as she wasn’t in pain now.

She smiled, her mood brightening.

“I don’t remember much.”

It’s fine. Her soothing smile seemed to comfort him, deepening the intensity in his eyes.

He couldn’t take his gaze off her softly glowing smile.

It’s funny. How this small, fragile woman could…

Paralyze his thoughts and ignite desire from his toes to his head, he couldn’t understand.
Instincts took over. Thirst arose. The body reacted before the mind.

A deep shadow fell over her face as his drew closer, causing her long eyelashes to flutter gently.

“Absorb my curse.”

His voice cracked with a rough edge.

“…Diana.”

“…”

“It’s tingling to my fingertips. My head feels strange.”

“That doesn’t seem to be because of the curse…”

Before she could finish her words, her lips fell softly like flower petals.

“Your illness. The more intense the skin contact, the better.”

Their lips parted briefly, seeking understanding, then continued their intense embrace.

“Do you dislike it?”

His voice, laden with heated breath, caressed her ear.

She seemed intoxicated by his scent, her pink eyes becoming hazy.

Not just Roderick was rendered thoughtless by the impulsive decision; Diana found she didn’t dislike it either.

“I don’t dislike it.”

She was enveloped in his warmth, losing touch with reality.

“Good. Roderick.”

It seemed alright, after all. His lips were so sweet she wanted more.

His lips, laden with intense desire, approached roughly, seeming to engulf her entirely.

The thick intensity of the movement left no bitter taste.

“That one looks nice.”

She pointed to the most elegant-looking dress among those presented by the maids.

Diana, getting up, was most surprised by the dresses and various jewels filling the guest room’s dressing room, all fitting as if tailored specifically for her.
