Though she wasn’t in a dire rush, due to the ticket’s expiration date, she relisted it the next day at 20% of the original price. Still, no buyers appeared. And this morning, she lowered it further to 40% off.

Then, a text message arrived.

“The ticket price is quite low. I would’ve bought it even if you’d asked for more.”

Why did he sound concerned for her? Was it because she was selling it too cheaply? She didn’t know who it was, but they seemed really kind. Still, did that mean they actually wanted to buy it?

“I’ll purchase it.”

Given the high value of the item, she thought, “Well, I’d do the same in their place.”

Having received a message from someone with the nickname “Anonymous Customer” arranging to meet at 6 p.m., Eun Seo stood up from her chair.

The meeting spot was in front of a café just two blocks away from her goshiwon, beside a street corner.

Eun Seo carefully tucked the absurdly expensive ticket—worth more than the house she used to live in—deep inside her bag. It felt no different from winning the lottery.
