Darkness had already settled in. Looking around the dim room, he couldn’t tell how much time had passed.

He had no idea how long he’d been asleep. Glancing at the clock, it read 9 o’clock.

Do Yeop let out a deep sigh. His breath still reeked heavily of alcohol. He barely managed to get up and headed to the bathroom to wash his face. His reflection in the mirror looked pitiful.

“Ugh. My stomach…”

As cold water hit his face, his foggy mind slowly began to clear.

He filled the sink with water and submerged his face in it for a long while before pulling out again.

Drying his face with a towel, he stepped out of the bathroom.

His tiny studio floor, visible at a single glance, was littered with soju bottles.

Memories of drinking alone last night unfolded in his mind.

He’d kept drinking until dawn and collapsed into sleep.

Clutching his aching stomach, he fumbled into his clothes.

Feeling he needed something to cure his hangover, he headed to the sundae-gukbap restaurant across from his studio villa.

Jingle.

“Welcome!”

“Owner, one bowl of sundae-gukbap, please.”
