Myeong Hoon gathered his things, shaking off his tired body. Mr. Jung, who had just finished patrolling the apartment complex and returned to the guard post, flicked two fingers and said,

“Mr. Kim, are you off duty tomorrow? How about a drink tonight?”

“Drink? Forget it. You should cut back on alcohol too.”

“Tch, you sound just like my wife. By the way, I heard a bachelor’s moving into the vacant 304 unit. He’s young and apparently loaded—living in a fancy place like this.”

“Why do you care so much about other people?”

Myeong Hoon ignored his colleague Mr. Jung and continued getting ready to leave. Unfazed by Myeong Hoon’s indifferent response, Mr. Jung kept talking.

“He said he’s some sort of company president. I really should’ve gone into business myself.”

“Just do your current job as a security guard properly. I’m heading out now.”

Mye, he waved as he turned away. Just then, Tae Kyung passed by the guard post and ran into Myeong Hoon.

Recognizing Myeong Hoon, Tae Kyung greeted him first.

“Oh? Hello there.”

“Hello.”

As Myeong Hoon returned Tae Kyung’s greeting, it didn’t feel like a mere coincidence that they’d met. Tae Kyung—the biological father of Min Jun.

He wondered whether Tae Kyung knew anything about Min Jun. Since he still seemed to harbor feelings for Seo Ha, Myeong Hoon couldn’t help but feel concerned about him.

“Do you live here, Mr. Han?”
