Secret Baby (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
The nurse smiled warmly and reassured him.
“It’s not like that at all. Earlier, his father came and asked us to move the room to a private suite. He also scheduled a comprehensive health check-up, so he’ll be back soon and needs you to give consent as the guardian. Didn’t you hear him?”
“His father? What do you mean?”
Myeong Hoon replied with a confused expression, which in turn flustered the nurse.
“He looked exactly like Min Jun—the tall man in the navy suit who came by earlier.”
At the nurse’s explanation, Tae Kyung’s image flashed through Myeong Hoon’s mind.
He definitely needed to get an explanation from Seo Ha.
He had never once asked Seo Ha about Min Jun’s biological father all this time.
Even without him asking, Seo Ha must have considered Min Jun’s biological father a painful topic.
Besides, raising Min Jun had never been an issue, even without his biological father around—
because he refused to force a connection by calling that heartless man, who had abandoned his own child, “Min Jun’s father.”
But if Seo Ha and Min Jun’s biological father were trying to start over, that was a different matter entirely.
He couldn’t let them restart their relationship without properly resolving things between them first.
“Anyway, we need to move Min Jun to the new room right now.”
The nurse added as she took Min Jun and stepped out of the room.
Myeong Hoon packed their belongings and sent a text message to Seo Ha.
Meanwhile, back at home, Seo Ha was busy cooking Min Jun’s favorite sausage side dish and braised tofu for Myeong Hoon.
[Min Jun’s room has been changed. It’s Private Room 2. Also, Coding Teacher came and left.]Seo Ha couldn’t understand Myeong Hoon’s message. They had neither reason nor means to afford a private suite—why had they moved?
She called Myeong Hoon, but he didn’t answer, likely too busy.
Just then, Yoon Hee called.
“Teacher Kim, how’s Min Jun doing?”
“Principal Yoon, thanks to your concern, Min Jun’s doing fine. He’s still on medication for lingering symptoms, though.”
“I see. Don’t worry about the kindergarten; just focus on Min Jun. And don’t worry about his hospital bills, either.”
Seo Ha assumed Yoon Hee had arranged the move to the private suite.
Gratitude and guilt welled up inside her.
How could she ever repay all the kindness Yoon Hee had shown her?
“Um, I’m truly grateful for your thoughtfulness, Principal, but the private suite is really too generous.”
“Private suite?”
“Didn’t you ask them to move him to the private suite?”
“Me?”
Yoon Hee sounded as if she was hearing this for the first time. Seo Ha was bewildered.
Then who had ordered the room change?
Could it possibly be Tae Kyung?
Seo Ha tried calling Tae Kyung, but only heard the automated message saying the call couldn’t go through. She bit her lips tightly.
With uneasy eyes, Seo Ha headed toward the hospital.
When she arrived, Myeong Hoon and Min Jun were having lunch.
“Mommy!”
“Yeah, Min Jun. Mommy brought your favorite sausage side dish—dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets too!”
“Wow! Mommy, the food here is really yummy!”
Even the hospital meals had been upgraded from regular to premium. Seeing Min Jun smile so brightly, she couldn’t bring herself to switch back to the standard meal.
Min Jun popped one of Seo Ha’s homemade sausage pieces into his mouth and beamed.
“But Mommy’s homemade sausage is still the best!”
“Right. Eat lots. Mommy will make more for you. How’s the dizziness and headache? Any better?”
“It hurts just a little now.”
Seo Ha gently stroked Min Jun’s head.
Myeong Hoon turned to Min Jun with a tender voice.
“Min Jun, Grandpa needs to talk with Mommy for a bit. After you finish eating, can you stay here and watch your robot cartoon?”
“Yeah, Grandpa. I can stay by myself.”
“Good. Brave Min Jun. Mommy and Grandpa will be right outside the door—if you call out loud, we’ll come right in.”
Trending
“Okay.”
Min Jun answered confidently. Seo Ha followed Myeong Hoon out of the room.
Uncharacteristically, Myeong Hoon let out a sigh. After hesitating for a long moment, he finally spoke.
“Seo Ha, I’ve never asked you before—but I think I need to know now. About Min Jun’s biological father.”
Seeing Myeong Hoon’s worried expression, Seo Ha’s voice trembled.
“Dad… Did someone come looking for Min Jun claiming to be his biological father?”
“No, not that. But Min Jun’s growing up—we can’t hide it from him forever, can we?”
“I’ll tell you later.”
Seo Ha avoided Myeong Hoon’s eyes.
He wasn’t someone worth reconnecting with—so why reveal he was the father?
Seeing Seo Ha hesitate, Myeong Hoon, unlike his usual self, pressed further.
How painfully he’d watched his daughter raise a child alone all these years.
It broke his heart to see her walking the same lonely path he once did.
He wanted Seo Ha to find someone she loved, so she wouldn’t have to be alone anymore.
He wished that, even if he had to leave her side someday, there’d be someone she could lean on.
That was a father’s wish.
“Later? When exactly? Are you planning to reunite with him?”
“Reunite? We never even got married—how can you call it a reunion? It’s nothing like that.”
“Then that ‘Coding Teacher’—is he Min Jun’s biological father?”
“Huh?”
Myeong Hoon had struck the core of the matter; Seo Ha’s eyes wavered intensely. Though she couldn’t form a reply, Myeong Hoon already felt he had his answer.
Still, he wondered—how had they met, and why had they parted?
He worried that man might reopen old wounds that had just begun to heal.
“After Min Jun falls asleep, I’ll explain everything.”
“Alright. I understand.”
Myeong Hoon patted Seo Ha’s shoulder and went back into the room. Seo Ha leaned against the hospital wall and looked up.
The white ceiling reminded her of the one above her when she’d given birth to Min Jun.
Just thinking of Tae Kyung’s cold gaze made her heart freeze, as if his stare had pierced straight through it.
She recalled Tae Kyung shouting, “This isn’t over yet!”—leaving her confused and unsettled.
Would Min Jun someday resent her?
For erasing his father from his life?
That evening, Min Jun fell soundly asleep.
Beside his sleeping form, Seo Ha and Myeong Hoon sat side by side, their faces shadowed with worry as they gazed at their child.
Seo Ha spoke first.
“Dad… Why didn’t you ever ask me before?”
“I figured you’d tell me when the time was right. And since his father never seemed to be looking for you, I didn’t want to bring it up—afraid it might hurt you.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, Dad.”
“It’s alright. I know you must’ve had your reasons for staying silent.”
Myeong Hoon gave a bitter smile and took a sip from the drink in his hand.
Seo Ha bit her lip hard, then let out a long sigh.
Now that Tae Kyung had found her, staying silent wouldn’t solve anything.
She might even have to run away again someday—there was no telling.
“Dad… That Coding Teacher—yes, he really is Min Jun’s biological father.”
Seo Ha pressed her fingernails into her fingers as she spoke.
“I thought so. Does he know Min Jun is his child?”
“No. He doesn’t.”
“Then why did you two break up?”
“His mother… didn’t accept Min Jun.”
Seo Ha heard Seung Ae’s words echoing in her ears:
“The Chairwoman told me herself she couldn’t accept either you or the baby.”

It was the price she paid for forgetting they belonged to entirely different worlds.
Surprisingly, Myeong Hoon wasn’t shocked.
“I see… That’s how it was. Seo Ha.”
Myeong Hoon called her name softly. Seo Ha kept her eyes fixed on her fingernails, unable to look up.
Myeong Hoon wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“You did well. It wasn’t your fault, and it certainly wasn’t Min Jun’s. I’m proud of you for protecting him so well all this time.”
At Myeong Hoon’s words, tears spilled from Seo Ha’s eyes.
Though no one said it outright, people’s gazes toward her—a single mother—had never been warm.
More often than not, people urged her to give up the child rather than keep him—
“For your sake,” they’d say. “Don’t let your life be chained down by a child.”
Myeong Hoon’s single sentence unleashed all her pent-up sorrow. She was grateful there were people who comforted her, who acknowledged how hard she’d fought day after day.
[This is the timeline separator]Tae Kyung tapped his index finger lightly on his desk. Kyu Won, who had just entered the CEO’s office, frowned.
“What’s wrong now?”
“Hmm.”
“Just say it already—you’re driving me crazy.”
Kyu Won flopped onto the sofa, scolding him. Tae Kyung didn’t take his eyes off the monitor.
“Did you review the extension program we discussed? We patched a bug, but what do you think? We’ve received requests to integrate it into elementary after-school or childcare programs.”
“Hmm.”
“Hey! Han Tae Kyung! Are you even listening to me?”
Kyu Won shouted loudly at Tae Kyung, then thumped his own chest in frustration.
Tae Kyung didn’t even blink.
It was Kyu Won who was infuriated by Tae Kyung’s aloofness.
Tae Kyung’s thoughts had already flown uncontrollably to Yangpyeong—to Min Jun and Seo Ha.
He didn’t want to imagine Min Seob shuttling in and out of the regular ward, lingering by Seo Ha’s side.
The mere thought made his blood boil. That’s why, without even asking Seo Ha, he’d moved them to a private suite.
He had no intention of letting Seo Ha go—now or ever.
“Seriously, it’s irritating.”
At Tae Kyung’s muttered comment, Kyu Won narrowed his eyes and stared at him. Seeing Tae Kyung so unfocused—unlike his usual self—Kyu Won sensed something unusual was going on between him and Seo Ha.
“What’s irritating you?”
“Huh? I wasn’t talking to you.”
Kyu Won pressed again, ignoring Tae Kyung’s attempt to dodge the question.
“Is this about Ms. Seo Ha? Are you really telling me you two have nothing going on?”
“Then either clean things up properly with Yoo Na and start fresh with Ms. Seo Ha, or make a real decision. By the way, Yoo Na came to the office the day you went to Yangpyeong for class.”
“Yoo Na? At the office?”
Tae Kyung’s voice suddenly rose. The news that Yoo Na had come left him with a bad feeling.
“Yeah. It was the same day you were at the hospital because of Min Jun. Yoo Na grilled me about why you went to Yangpyeong—I got a really weird vibe from her.”
Kyu Won shuddered at the memory and continued.
“Well, she said she just came to see you. Right then, I got your message saying you’d be back in Seoul late that evening, so I passed it along—and she just left.”
Tae Kyung’s eyes darkened. He was bothered that Jin Yu Na had asked about his Yangpyeong trip.
She’d never questioned his work trips before.
It annoyed him deeply—not only was she pushing him toward marriage, but now she was digging into matters concerning Seo Ha again.
Truthfully, since they had nothing to do with each other, her silence until now had been fine—but now she was acting willfully, and it grated on him.
“You didn’t mention Seo Ha, did you?”
“No, I didn’t. But if you’re thinking about Ms. Seo Ha, you can’t act like this. You need to clearly settle your position. Otherwise, you’re just giving Yoo Na room to hope. Or just cut ties with her already.”
Tae Kyung felt inexplicably sullen. His heart belonged only to Seo Ha, yet the lingering entanglement with Yoo Na irked him.
“What do you even know?”
“True, I don’t know why you and Ms. Seo Ha broke up. But watching you chase after her like a lovesick puppy, clinging to a relationship that ended five years ago—it’s frustrating.”
Kyu Won had begun speaking in his usual lazy tone, but now sat upright, offering serious advice. Tae Kyung pretended not to listen, keeping his eyes fixed on the monitor—but Kyu Won’s sharp remark stung him.

“Besides, it’s already public knowledge that you’re engaged to Yoo Na. How do you think it looks to others when you’re seen together with Ms. Seo Ha?”
“It’s just rumors. I don’t care.”
Tae Kyung pouted like a sulky child.
But Kyu Won’s next question hit him like a slap to the head.
“Maybe you don’t care—but what about Ms. Seo Ha? Does she feel the same way?”
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
